Watching that game last night - specifically the Lightning PP - reinforced not only the need for a RD, but one that can bomb the puck from the point.

Opposing PK are able to collapse on the back door/cross ice pass too easily because there is no respect for the Leafs current D to get a dangerous shot on net and don't have to account for that at all and prefer to give them that shot. In fact, too often the D find shin pads let alone a dangerous scoring opportunity.

Parayko checks that box for me, and man did he look good paired with Rielly for a short time on Team North America before injury.

I dont believe that Parayko is really available. Why would they trade him? Id really like someone like Gudas who has some toughness.

Maybe a deal with Philly for Simmonds/Gudas?

Our D are totally useless. I have not seen any of them make a good play all year..

Definitely! Gudas would be a good target, and of course Simmonds.

Parayko's name won't go away...would be my ideal, even though he's probably not available.

Vailevsky was pretty amazing last night too, so goalies evened out IMO. He made some huge saves in the 3rd. Very good game from both teams.

Hockey Gods weighed in...Vasilevskiy stole the last one in Tampa, Andersen the difference in this one. His side-to-side anticipation was spot on. Great game.
