I like the trade for the Canucks. Schenn can help the Canucks by helping Utica during this period of injuries and lack of tenure on D there. And if things go bad over the next few weeks on the big club, Schenn can help the full on tank. Win/Win

absolutely astonished that people think this move was to better Canucks Defense by adding Schenn.

Elias Pettersson is coming off injured reserve and Canucks needed to open a spot on the active roster. MDZ has been healthy scratched half the entire season on a team that has one of the worst defenses in the league. Schenn is already in the AHL, can will go straight to Utica. EP comes to the Canucks, and Jim Benning gets a 7th.
Thinking that Schenn will do anything, or this opens up a trade with Gudbranson (wishful thinking) is astonishing. People are looking way too into a trade without understanding the logistics of it.
