If you're not playing Hart, you're not playing to win. I get there's back to backs so their is an exception.
Wasn't pretty but they got the job done. Halak was trash so that helped. - Pelle31Forever
I'm amazed at how Halak has such striking streaks. He'll be lights out for a bunch of games and then becomes swiss cheese for a long spell also. |

Hard fought game last night. Hart was on fire again. When he fully develops, and the Flyers no longer have goalie issues, what will we have to complain about? - jsh139
There will ALWAYS be a depth defenseman that someone will hate because they aren't good enough to be a top pair. |

But all that glue...
Honestly, I didn't have an issue with Brandon Manning as much as I had a problem with how the coach over-relied on him.

I think that says more about the other defenseman than Manning or fill in another defensemans name. |

Absolutely.
Honestly, as much as it may not be reflected in the shot attempt differentials, I do think that you still do need players like that, or that there is at least a place for players like that. Granted, you'd like to have a strong enough roster to limit those minutes, and there hope is that you only have 1-2 players on the roster like that (a step we're taking).
But hell, Pittsburgh won 2 Cups with Tom Kuhnackl, and one of them was by playing Ron freakin Hainsey on their top pair. So yes, if you have a deep enough lineup, a coach who can implement a system that plays to his players' strengths, and a goalie playing at a high level consistently, you can win with a few "replacement level" players. |

He had one of the best GAA in the league prior to last night's game. Actually him and Rask were top 5. |

That's because they don't have Brandon Manning or Nick Schultz on their team. |

No question absolutely, but the best will always have to play like the best to balance out the others to help utilize them.
Even the best teams like the Nashvile's and Tampa's have their Mannings, MacDonalds and Folins...people just don't want to believe it though. |

Hart is the Flyer’s starter.
I have said since the summer, my unpopular opinion, I would like a Hart/Lyon tandem next season. If you need a little veteran security, you get one on a AHL/NHL deal and pair him with Sandstrom on the Phantoms.
Hart is about to get a nice break so I don’t think he is being overused. Lyon has been a bit...maybe a couple of conditioning stints by Elliott/Stolarz can spell him down the stretch. Maybe they waive Neuvy...if he is not picked up then he can backup Lyon.
I would have really liked Lyon to get more NHL games this season, but injuries happen and Hart earned the spot. I am not ready to give up on Lyon though. - NC Flyers Fan
Absolutely not, Lyon should not be the backup to our 21 year old goaltender next year. I'd rather resign Elliot for a one year than do that. |

No team has six great dmen, but for a long time the Flyers have hurt themselves by using guys in top 4 when they are much better suited as a number 5, 6 or 7. Under Gordon the ice time for the dmen makes a lot more sense.

If you re-sign Elliott, it's likely he gets hurt at some point and Lyon comes up anyway. |

I saw a tweet that claimed Weise was waived and sat out of the past two games because he's getting traded. If that's the case then it's time to promote an AHL forward. |

Is it me or did Gordon's quote regarding Lindblom appear to call out Hak for stapling him to lower lines? |

"Well, he probably could have been different sooner if the coach had put him on a higher up line at the beginning. The way he is playing is the way I saw him playing in Lehigh. Whether he scored or didn’t score, you got the same game from him every night. Now he’s had a couple opportunities, hasn’t been able to score or he’s made some nice plays, the guys he has made the nice plays to hasn’t score, so it was nice for him to be able to get a goal and an assist," Gordon said. |

Depends. He'd have to take a 1-year deal and be okay with being a backup. |

That's probably a valid comment. And Hak is gone so quotes like that will occur |
