I remember where I was for 2010. I remember waking my dad up to have him watch and celebrate. The unbelievable comeback in 13. Every continual late game of 15. The almost of 14 ... I don't like to talk about it, but Chi and LAK was the SC finals. The almosts were fun. Many faces gone and missed. All gave some and some gave all.

I give you the belt tonight, Wolfie. I'm calling it a night. Enjoy the rest of the night, guys and gals.

- I Am The Breadman

.. That's what we need bro. While most of the other loser ass teams are pining for their first cup, we got 3 in the last 8 years. And don't forget it.

There are 30+ teams in every sport. That's a just under 4% chance to win it all. Pretty small odds. Yet our boys did it thrice. I'll take it.

So, you are saying that no players on the current roster or in the minors will improve enough to solve these issues? I agree on the top 6 forward, but after that, I think the rest could be solved by an actual off-season to practice and players improving/coming up in the system.
- CanOCorn

That is precisely what i am saying. They have nothing forward wise in Rockford and a few kids who are going to need 2-3 years to become pros if they ever do.

Interesting thing from the game...TOI for the blueline

Keith 24:16
Seabrook 23:45
Gustafsson 21:06
Murphy 16:00
Dahlstrom 15:58
Joki 14:02

Seabrook doesn't often get these many minutes anymore. Noticed he was playing with Keith. He has a few games in Nov where he played 25-26 minutes, but most nights he has been getting 14-17 minutes.

Only the Bulls compare to the Hawks. They were what the Hawks would have been without a hard cap.

Yep. And I think the Bulls would have won 8 in a row had Jordan not “retired”.

Ok maybe it's because I am drunk. Dunno. LOL

I've spent a good amount of time bashing Seabs and to a lesser degree Toews, Keith, whoever was in my path.

Then I thought tonight. As a fan of the Bears I have ONE Super Bowl to remember, as a fan of the White Sox I have ONE World Series to remember.

The Hawks gave us THREE flags.

Bring up ANY NAME, ANY NAME from the 1985 Bears team and I'll kneel and pray (and I'm not even religious). So why? NOT ONE TIME did I ever bash Walter Payton for failing to pick up a key first down in the 1987 playoffs? WHY? Because he was (frank)ing Walter Payton and he had done enough baby. I think I'm gonna start treating , Toews, Keith and yes... Seabs (though not quite on that level) the same way.

Mark this point now, I may analyze games, I may be pissed we lost, but as far as bashing the players who hung three giant flags in our stadium, no matter what I think about their play today, I am out. Retired. Not bashing any of them ever again.

Peace.

What the hell is going on in this place. I check out for a bit and from what I can tell, Enzo sent Wolfie some of his product, and now apparently Mo and Wolfie have become besties...WTF?!?!?

If you’re not going to make the playoffs (and they’re not) being dead last isn’t necessarily a bad thing. It allows the Hawks to add an impactful player without giving up assets. Screw it embrace the losses!

Sure, a game-winning overtime goal in a game 7 against Detroit was special, but yet this is still my favorite...

That's what I mean - we didn't have to watch them slow down and get bad. The memories of those other teams doesn't include the bad years.

Man, it would be great to watch Walter again. What an athlete.

- mohel

Walter and I were born the same year. I couldn't believe it when he got sick and died. Shook me up and made me think. Since he died I have made a point to travel more and not blow off vacation time if I was busy with something or other. If he didn't pick up Studwell, the blitzing linebacker in the Viking thursday night game when McMahon was injured and came in for the 2nd half and threw to McKinnon (I think) for a TD, there would have never been a super bowl win. Best bears play in my lifetime. Walter Payton was awesome. And I'm a hockey guy saying that.

Just wait until next season when Seabrook TOI cannot ever be so high. As we have been saying, time moves on and if you want to win we need new blood. Same goes for Keith but with him he is not yet real close to the slippery slope of no return. Notice how Murphy is penalized because Colliton does not trust Dahlstrom. With Gus he is a lot like Gardiner in Toronto. Babcock says he does enough things well enough.

Obviously IF Gus sticks around he should become more of a specialist with sometimes sheltered third pair minutes. The state of the blueline core is that it is in flux

The great prospects and.the second tier guys like a Gilbert will be chomping at the bit by this time next year. Reality is that you can only play so many of them in Chicago. It may take a different length of time for prospect to get how to play. Jokiharju is mighty young too. And then there is the question of too many prospects being similar players.

If I had to guess i see red flags with Forsling. Too one dimensional and gets injured often. Gus will go once Boqvist is ready. So you will retain a great offensive guy
But we might find out that Beaudin and Mitchell are the real deal

I like Carlsson speed as a boost to solid all around player. I am wondering if his pp goals due to his good shot will translate to NHL. I would love to see a mobile Kryz graduate to NHL but until he does Murphy stays put. Or if it turns out that both Hillman and Gilbert can handle NHL.

Dahlstrom is a player whom has to take the next step. Is he quick enough. Has been more physical than I expected. Of course it is consistency and cutting down mistakes with dmen. Tough situation for prospects whom need to play NHL because they won't improve much more by further AHL That is basically where Dahlstrom resides right now.

The one trickiest part may be fitting in whom the coaches like best as you have to look at whom plays what side on defense. But clearly I would like to see Hillman and Gilbert battling for a third pair and Kryz would work on a third pair as well. Good coaching and a year or two of AHL means that you could conceivably put two rookies together. If they keep it simple and had a B Trotz quality type coach, they could play together.

Carlsson is the 5th. The top four takes shape once the prospects get more experience.

This is basically just pointing out a few things and follows the outline AEL_Fox spelled out.

On Kampf: good enough until someone else comes along. Nilson? Kampf does not appear to be the smartest tack.

one of the best lines about an athlete I have ever heard: Fred O'Connor, the Bears' former backfield coach, once said, ''The first time I saw Walter Payton in the locker room, I thought God must have taken a chisel and said, 'I'm going to make me a halfback.' ''

There was once Paul Woods, Red Wings, a veteran speedy defensive bottom line player whom each season had what seemed like a record amount of breakaways. He just could not score. Too early yet to say Kampf is the same way.

Premature and may not turn out to be foreshadowing, but here was Tr Murray commenting on two Red Wings rookie dmen; namely: Lindgren and Chytil.

The former played U od Minnesota and is fiesty but can play. Murray saw that and said just that. The stud of course is the ultra skill fast first round selection in Chytil.

This acclaimed rookie is their next #1 pair because NYR have losses among formerly top good dmen...
McDonough gone; Staahl not as good nowadays. Shattenkirk has NOT been their star. They have received offensive numbers from someone I need to research named Poing (currently injured). Their top dman whom emerged last couple seasons is Skeiji.

I will be curious to see how this crew does as well as any changes in Carolina and of course our Blackhawks. Just some teams off top of my head will evolving set on defense

I didnt read this whole message board thread and I'm not going to yet... so I apologize if I'm being redundant...but why didn't Seabrook lay out Chytil in the 3rd period? I don't recall the exact point in the game time wise. He could've put a monster hit on him as Chytil entered our zone and he ignored it. After the way the Rangers were hitting us early I would have thought it would have been perfect time for a big Seabrook hit. What am I missing here
