Brent Seabrook was literally been my favorite player since something like 2007, when he was playing his heart out for a poop team. He gave his heart to the Hawks. I'm done bashing him. And I apologize for it. It's a joke I ever spewed venom on a message board about his game. No Seabrook, no Stanley and I don't give a flying (frank) how he plays tomorrow or how much he's paid. - kwolf68
Wolfie on fire! I love Seabs - could have been the backbone of that team. Strong dude, physically and mentally. If I could go back to 2008, and someone offered 3 Cups followed by a down period, I'd gladly accept the offer. |

I agree with all of it, Seabrook was a pillar during the cup years, will never forget the series winning goal in OT against the Wings, second round, game 7, 2013, shivers, may have to watch that on youtube again, great goal, course another long lost hero set that play up with a killer hit, Dave Bolland. |

Sure, a game-winning overtime goal in a game 7 against Detroit was special, but yet this is still my favorite...

With possible exception of the Pens, old-time Habs and Oilers and Islanders fans, I'd say fans of all other NHL teams would say the same. |

Would and do, I can never remotely complain to my Hockey chums about the Hawks, they shut me down in a heartbeat, 3 cups in a cap era, along with Pitt, unheard of.. |

There are very few things in life that will make a grown-ass man leap from his chair and yell in sheer joy. I’ll always be thankful for this group of players. |

The Rat was (frank)ing awesome. and I argue a legit playoff MVP in 2010, the way he shut down every line he played against. |

No, thank you. I can't speak for everyone, but I get caught up in winning, the best way to win, who we need to win, want to be right about who I like and don't, and don't really stop to smell the major victories. It's easy to be an armchair gm/coach, but I'll admit when I'm wrong and step back from it all. There's 33 games left (?) might as well enjoy where the pieces fall, and change my viewpoint on a team that spoiled my youth. New year, doesn't have to be the same view. As fans, we can do more than complain and commiserate, we can celebrate and should. |

On Wolfie's post...we didn't have to watch the Bulls lose, they fell apart. The Bears team - Walter retired, Marshall left, McMahon got hurt often. The Sox weren't built to last. We'll see if the Cubs were.
We're watching heroes deteriorate together, and it ain't easy. Can't say enough about that post. |

There ya go man. Lemme ask anyone? What would you do to get back any one day of watching Walter Payton run the ball? Mike Singletary crush someone? Ryan Sandberg make a great play at 2nd and then hit a homer? Britt Burns battle his ass off for the Sox, Ernie Banks playing 2? etc., etc...FILL IN your favorite Chicago sports memory.
NONE OF them have the Hawks beat. NONE. I remember the exact moment where I was in 2010 when Kane scored the Cup clincher. That was a good moment. |

Only the Bulls compare to the Hawks. They were what the Hawks would have been without a hard cap. |

The Bears team? Losing had little to do with Sweetness, it was horrible leadership/coaching by Coach Ditka. period. He (frank)ed up. Calling the scap Bears "the real Bears" is where his politics jumped the shark and cost the Bears a title. |

That's what I mean - we didn't have to watch them slow down and get bad. The memories of those other teams doesn't include the bad years.
Man, it would be great to watch Walter again. What an athlete. |

There ya go.
But seriously, NO EXCUSE for the Bears not winning at least another one.
I think Coach Ditka was a great coach until 1987, then he became a (frank)ing clown. He went from the guy breaking his wrist after losing to a corporate whore selling poop to the idiot masses.
I wish he had remained COACH. I thought he was a combination of Halas and Landry when we got him in 83. And he was, feisty as poop, mean, yet innovative. Then he turned into a marketed item. Weep for lost glory. |

I remember where I was for 2010. I remember waking my dad up to have him watch and celebrate. The unbelievable comeback in 13. Every continual late game of 15. The almost of 14 ... I don't like to talk about it, but Chi and LAK was the SC finals. The almosts were fun. Many faces gone and missed. All gave some and some gave all.
I give you the belt tonight, Wolfie. I'm calling it a night. Enjoy the rest of the night, guys and gals. |

I hope you're working on a Duncan Keith article, too, cause he's been a lot worse on several occasions than Gus was last night. Let's not forget that #2 was on the ice for 5 goals against NJ. Not excusing Gus' lack of hustle on that goal, but I'm sure you could put together a lengthy video of #2 atrocities, which are even more inexcusable for a player who is supposedly (and incorrectly) on the list of the top 100 players of all time..... |
