I'm definitely not disagreeing with the defensive criticisms of Goldobin, I just think its crazy to give up on a player with his offensive talents this early. Especially given the work Green put in to developing Virtanen, who was susceptible to being lazy/unengaged. I fully support him getting healthy scratched, benched, etc. as he needs to learn; but IMO he's capable of developing the necessary consistency

No rush, green knows every personality on that team and how to treat him and he has said numerous times he likes goldy and his skill. They work with him everyday. No point in throwing him away and get nothing.

I would say, his defensive play has gotten worse, so that would be a regression. I don't think the right direction is supposed too be downhill...unless he is a skier.

It's actually unreal how he has been able to replace Karlsson's points.

i would love to proven wrong , but it just seems to me he just doesn't have that fire to make a difference. you can't play him on PK,OT,when the game is on the line and with anybody other then EP.

Dahlen is still inconsistent in the AHL while Goldy was an offensive star for the Comets so I highly doubt Dahlen’s better right now

I keep hearing that top 5 picks are the way to go. I am sure the Ottawa fanbase was calling Chabot a bust last season, you know because he wasn't a superstar at 20.

PPG in the AHL is pretty much “star” at that level lol.

Of course it’s not a fair comparison but that’s exactly why it’s ridiculous to think a kid still trying to find his way in the AHL would be decent in the NHL right now.

Schaller is a pure AHL’er who had a career year playing on a good Bruins team, he should be waived before Goldy is. He’s provided nothing so far as a Canuck.

And this is coming from someone who didn’t mind the Schaller signing at all
