I wonder what production he'd even have here though. He's been a product of environment to some extent.
- RhinoFan

I don’t really want him but he would be an upgrade over those guys.
I say let Toronto dig their own grave. If someone trades for Nylander and does them that favor I’m gonna be pissed.

Yeah, probably a non issue. Big trades within division are rare. TO knows we need scoring, we know they need defense, I doubt that either side is interested helping the other. Still, I just wonder if Kadri would be that much better. He won't have the wingers to fly with any longer. How much does that effect him? Dk to be honest. He'd get more minutes here...

At that contract Nylander will be a tough trade. I wouldn't be surprised if he's moved for peanuts this offseason. 3pts in 17g, if that doesn't change, even though I expect it to, that's a worse value than Okposo currently...

I’d take these 3 Calgary players in a heartbeat over these 3 Sabre players
Calgary
Johnny G. 25 years old 6,750,000 over next 3 seasons 27 goals 69 points
Sean M 24 years old 6,375,000 over next 4 seasons 25 goals 69 points
Matt T 23 years old guessing 7,000,000 over 8 seasons 23 goals 51 points

Buffalo
Jack E 22 years old 10,000,000 over 7 seasons 15 goals 49 points
Kyle O 30 years old 6,000,000 over next 4 seasons 7 goals 18 points
Jeff S 27 years old guessing 8,000,000 over next 7 s. 30 goals 44 points

Face it Kyle O is a tremendous bust. Skinner will be wayyyy overpaid and will start to regress real soon because of his age….I’d trade him at the deadline and see if they can sign him for about 7 mil in the off season

"Face it Kyle O is a tremendous bust" everyone knows this, you will find 0 argument except those that point out his health concerns, which are truly unfortunate.

"Skinner will be wayyyy overpaid and will start to regress real soon because of his age" - this is pure speculation. I think based on the way he plays and skates, he will continue to produce well into his 30's

"sign him for about 7 mil in the off season" ummmm 0% chance that he hits the open market and signs for 7M. He's second in the league in goals right now.

If anyone here thinks any team sees a sabres d as an upgrade over their own, except for 26, you're all as clueless about hockey as you all sound eveyday.

Including Risto. He's a mess

I can definitely see them underestimating us. McCabe seemed pretty fired up. We have a long history of coming back charging after a blow out. We shall see.

I’m not dogging him here, but he is a one dimensional player, a finisher. The play dies a lot with the puck on his stick away from scoring areas. Forget defense.
Over 7 years, 8M. I don’t like long term deals.
Even then I think it’s a bit of an overpayment but I can stomach it.

They have ten roster spots to fill next year and about 23M to do it. If they can’t move out some salary they’re (frank)ed. If Nylander got 7M per what’s marner going to demand? I can’t see him and Matthews combined for less than 20M, maybe as much as 22.5M. That’s at best 3M for the other 8 roster spots. I would love it if nobody did any business with them this year.

Paying an older player top dollar for having a career year is following the Murray blueprint of signing players like Kyle O.
Kyle O. never was a great player he was a good player who had an outstanding center to help him pad his stats... Skinner has always been a good player and has been fortunate to have played with an outstanding center this year....

The absolute highest contract I'd give him is 7.5 for 7 years
