Or u can keep spouting off things that aren’t true

Don’t worry,
We all know which way you’ll go
It’s fine guy

Lol, 365 is the one that remembered your Alzner love fest a few months ago. It was probably after the 100th time you randomly brought up Shattenkirk.

You wanted Alzner. Which is cool dude, we’re all wrong about stuff.

The funny part is you backtracking or refusing to ever admit it

Beady was right when he said Risto was Dion 2.0. Alike Dion, Risto should not be in a top pairing role. However, if he is on the 2nd pair and isn’t playing as many heavy d-zone minutes, then he can be effective. Risto’s advanced statistics says he’s a bad player, but I don’t know many d-men that are in the top 20 in scoring and lead the league in hits. Pilut is good in possession exits, first passes, and possession entries and can help mitigate Risto’s mistakes. At a $5.4M salary, and the fact he’s a RHD (tough to find) he’s a great fit with the core. Sure can we get a great forward for him ? Probably. If we trade Risto we spend the next 5 years looking for a RHD to fill that spot.

It’s almost as if the ROLE u play guys in has an effect on how they perform?!
Weird

Kinda like how Larsson & Girgs sucked in the top9,
but are great fits for line4

You don’t get rid of good players...
you put them in the correct role for their skill set
Where they can be successful!

Risto is not perfect, but for his cap hit which looks better by the minute he is useful. Unless you play on Eichel’s wing then odds are you aren’t getting very much 5v5 production. Risto is as much a victim of our poor offensive cast since his rookie year as he has been the culprit.
- Pegullaville

A team with an established/balanced d-core could get him in at 20/21 mins a night where he could be turned loose offensively. Use him like philly uses Ghost bear.

Well I was wrong, Botterill will in fact be making a move. Those of you who wanted this can thank NB, although im not sure what he's going to bring back

My comment was regarding Ristolainen, hits and what they mean in terms of having the puck.

I do admit when I’m wrong

I don’t admit to your drastic overstatements about things i supposedly said

I’ve brought up TONS of possibilities for us
Last night i brought up Eric Staal
I’m sure in 6months you’ll try to say i wanted to sign him to a 7year deal & name him Captain though

Im hopeful they can flip him for a forward in a similar position as NB. Fallen out of favour but could be useful to us cause he plays a position we lack.

Agreed. I understand it from NB's point of view. The next 35 or so games could be the difference between concrete contract offers or knocking on doors for a try out.

Ok...

Here's the problem, and why the advanced stats don't like him.

Think about what hits means for a second. Sure, correctly timed/well placed hits can impede another teams offence, but if your greatest on ice impact is total hits per shift, it means that most of the time you are out there, you don't have the puck. Hence the puck possession numbers being not so good.

If Ristolainen's offense was a nice split between PP and 5v5, you could live with this. But it's not, and it hasn't been his entire career. If you removed top pp minutes from his total (and they will by next year at the latest) you would see a major drop in his numbers.

- Sabresfan-365

Again...
puck possession numbers (Corsi) are overrated!

Some use that as a measure of how good a player is/isn’t
It’s extremely flawed imo

It’s getting worse. Are people under the impression he’s had a good season?

Because he had a highlight goal against San Jose and knows how to pass the puck to Eichel on the Pp?

- sbroads24

Lets keep a close eye on risto tonight.
Try and be opened minded

I'm pro-risto
I will do the same

Hes an offensive defenseman.
Pp or not

Measure his grit and determination tonight, if possible
Does that not count for anything?

My guess is he'll get traded to a team for a pick, probably a 4th or 5th.
