I wonder what we could get out of Anaheim? They're in a tailspin and the GM sounds like he's about to pull a Chia just to make a change.

Obviously... lets get back Sprong for pennies on the dollar... and then bench him again and let him walk.

Realistically, IF they want to start blowing it up and selling all.... Nick Ritchie is a LW that would be a solid pickup. 1.5 mil a year for this and two more years, 10-15 goal scorer which is solid, and its a position we need another player for. Fancy stats are also very strong, and has been a + player in the super vital +- stat. His corsi is over 50% and a + on the rel corsi stat also.

Kase is better (allegedly a natural LW is why I mention... but I am seeing he has been on the right side there), more goals/points and monstrous corsi, but I don't think they would trade him or we could afford.

I don't think we could pry another Dman out of there, so not going to theorize that.

I don’t think Anaheim is going to give away anyone with term. I also wouldn’t be surprised if Cogliano returns to Anaheim in the offseason (pending they get a new coach). Murray is meeting with Silverberg this week or next (I can’t remember) and if they can’t extend him then he’s gone. I don’t think anyone else is available unless you’re willing to overpay or fill a need that moves the needle

12 Losses in a row... I believe almost anything can be on the table when the GM enters panic mode. But, just throwing out names that aren't crazy.

Manson would be such a great get, but I doubt he’s even on JR’s list of possibilities.

Schultz is soon to return, and JR won't admit JJ is a mistake... plus Petterson being quite good... yeah, I'd say near zero chance of us grabbing another Dman.

Murray isn’t one of those panic GMs though, he’s more like David Poile. He brought in Carlyle because he won them a cup and Boudreau wasn’t getting it done. He probably hasn’t hired a new coach because he hasn’t found the right fit is my guess

So Bettman cancels the Olympics and promises that he’ll make the World Cup a thing and now that’s canceled too? (frank)ing lame. I wanted to see the transition to youth for Team USA, but I guess we’re just not doing international play anymore.

I'm just gonna want to believe you are wrong AND that JR is working a deal out for a winger. Mostly because the Ducks broke 100 points last year and didn't change the roster a ton (unless I am just tired and thinking like poop right now). There should be massive concern over what is going on with their season.

Sounds like this was done to avoid a lockout. Don’t know why the NHLPA would want to not have the World Cup though so maybe this was Bettman just trying to pass the buck.

Oh, I'm confused. I thought you said Bettman cancelled the World Cup? Don't the players want the world cup?

Would JO and Brass + our first be the enough to get Duchene? Just can’t imagine our team sucking with him on our 3c. Honestly what would it take? I was saying those two because they seem most likely to be moved.

I don't see Ottawa taking Brass back after moving him last deadline haha. And I like Duchene but just don't see him coming here.

OTT is going to CLEAN UP on Duchene. Pens wouldn't part with what they'd want. If they allow a team to pre-negotiate an extension? You'd be talking about Guentzel and a 1st to start.

Between Duchene, Stone and Dzingel the Sens should be set with futures for a long while.

Brass’ camp says he won’t block a trade to any team, but prefers to go back to CBJ.

I highly doubt that happens considering the likelihood of playing them in the first round is high.

I really don't like the idea of dealing with CBJ. If that other Riley Nash rumor was real and the Pens see him as a 3C then the Pens are doomed.

Now, if they can somehow send us Jenner? All day long, but I don't see them wanting to part ways with him.

I'd love to see Jenner up against Wilson

Definitely agree. If somehow JR could convince the BJs to part with Jenner in some type of Brassard trade I would weep tears of joy for that.

I'm not that interested in Nash. Rather just keep Brassard if that's the case despite him being a disappointment.

It's interesting that the teams seem to be talking though.

Nash is garbage. On a team that's supposedly struggling down the middle, Nash has been moved to wing on the 4th line.

His 41 points season last year was an aberration and is back to his normal production, which is that of an OK 4th liner.

We traded Grant to Anaheim for a 24 year old prospect...I am sad about this one. I was hoping they would keep Grant and maybe slot him in full time as the 3rd or 4th line center. He seems to play well when on the ice. I would have rather traded away Cullen

We acquired Joseph Blandisi LW (scouting report compares him to Steve Ott and Marchand). He played for NJ and ANA. He is a RFA after this season. I still would have liked to keep Grant or trade from Aberg due to his speed, but during DKs write up he did say he plays with some energy. Maybe he will surprise us and be a pretty good 3rd/4th line player. He seems kinda small, but he does fight, dish out hits, and sits in front of the net. I guess we will find out. Rumors also have it Horny flew in to Arizona to possibly play with the team.

Grant is no third line center, he was solid as the 4th though. Looks like Ruth is getting ready haha
