Fletcher and Gordon weren't here in October.

Also this is another chance for another team to claim him. Maybe someone needing forward help will grab him.

Yep, they have zero attachment to Weise. Could easily see this as a move to bring up a younger player and gently place Dale Weise ("veteran presence") down in Lehigh Valley.

It's time to just play defense like Voracek after one of his tasty turnovers.

Maybe the phantoms need veteran presence more as their season is quickly spiraling out

Most likely for roster flexibility. Once he clears they have 10 games and 30 days to make a move.

Weise the horse, and Varone the pony.

My life and experiences are not NHL hockey. That's far too simplistic. There is too much focus and credit being given for the talk rather than the actions on the ice. There are numerous instances of quotes given by Gordon about the team play which I'm sure is the same as he is giving to the team, without results.
- MJL

I am actually with you on this one *throws up on shoes*

You are looking too much at the full picture and that causes too much thinking.

Gordon said "JvR be good" and JvR said "Thanks I needed someone to tell me that". JvR then realized the game is easier when you move your legs. Happy Ending.

Ok. Take this from someone that understands these types of things. It takes time to understand someone's motivations. It takes time to evaluate a person's present level of performance aka plep before you can compare it to prior performance. It takes time to understand the best way to deliver any criticism or critiques.

In this case, Gordon noticed somethings that were different in JVR's game from when he was with Toronto. Things that JVR most likely didn't notice, or things another coach was asking him to do that didn't work for him. Gordon talked it out with JVR and BOTH acknowledged the changes worked. At least for now...

I wasn't aware and I'm certified to teach history. People can't be aware of every misdeed that has happened to every "group" of persons all-time.

IMO he was just messing with a guy that had long hair.... Like if he said to shave Burn's beard....

I don't see any evidence of understanding these things. You keep arguing the same thing and describing the interaction between the coach and player as if that is in question. It's not. It's about the main reason why JvR played better.

Gordon was around JvR for how many years in Toronto? He just figured out what makes him tick in the last 10 games or whatever? Back to the drawing board.

Let him think his camp counseling experience has anything to do with it..

3 main things have changed the past 3 games (technically last 2 because the game against Dallas wasn't very good, but he had 2 points and they won so I will give it to him out of pity) since his talk with Gordon...

1) Effort
2) Skating
3) Less turnovers

I'm sure none of these things were talked about...

Hard to understand slumps. Some can be confidence. Sometimes nursing secret injuries. Sometimes life changes. Birth of a child. Sick family member. Kid hitting the teenage years being a handful. Adjusting back to a new city and teammates. Finding his place with the team and in games.

Nobody really knows. Just hoping it continues.

Saw someone with a Weise Jersey last night.... I almost asked them to stand next to the person with the MacDonald jersey so I could get a pic.
