Maybe Fletch was asked to retain salary and/or throw in something else for the other team to take him. So Fletch, again Hextall did the waiving before and it is a different time of year, is testing the waters for a better deal...giving him away for free.

I think that's the case, potentially multiple teams are interested but are throwing him anvils instead of actual offers. So Fletch is either calling thier bluff or testing the waters.

That's the kind of team you have to guard against becoming. They have some really good players to build around but tried to escalate the team by taking on some bigger contracts. Now they aren't good enough and don't have the flexibility.
