I do realize it. He's also excellent with bringing the puck over the opponent's blue line.
As much as I hate the guy's gaffes, he is going to leave a huge hole when he leaves after this year (sadly, we will not offer him a new contract - or at least one he will sign). - Atomic Wedgie
Yup.
I would be shocked if Dubas didn’t trade for a replacement that’s cheaper for next year....or sign him.
I like Dermott but he is no where near the level to replace Gardiner and the Leafs can’t afford to have their d worsen next year. |

I think that makes sense.. Promote Dermott to 2nd pairing, bring Rosen up to play on the 3rd pair.
If Gardiner is traded, it should be for a good RHD |

Gardiner currently averages 21:41 a night.
Rosen is playing in the AHL.
Does that answer your question? |

Trading Gardiner is a sideways move.
In fact with him being a UFA we’d get a worse d in return and the Leafs would be worse for the playoff run and next year.
Not exactly a winning formula.... |

Does that answer your question? - Atomic Wedgie
That's a lot of questions but I'll answer as best as I can. First of all, Kudos to you for even knowing that there IS a difference!!
Miss USA is mostly about looks. There are three phases of competition all weighted equally - evening gown, swimsuit and interview.
Miss America is more about the total package. There are five phases of competition - Talent at 35%, Interview at 25%, Evening Gown at 20%, Swimsuit at 15% and On Stage Question at 5%.
There are three things that really make the Miss America system different...there is a talent portion, the interview is much more intense and, most importantly, it provides millions of dollars in scholarships not only to the winners, but runner ups, preliminary winners, etc. every year.
Neither system is necessarily "better" than the other. They are just different. There are girls that are successful only in one system, but there are many that crossover and are successful in both.
Hope this explains it

Just one more question:
Can I get the deposit back on the wedding dress I purchased?
I obviously never received it. |

It happens but not enough for people to lose their minds as much as they do.
If the Leafs lost Gardiner the defense would be (frank)ing awful.
It’s funny how nobody complains about Dermott. He’s made as many stupid giveaways as Gardiner has this year against worse competition and gets a free pass. - Santo_44
Dermott has played 78 games (less than a season) against NHL opposition.
Gardiner has played 533 games against NHL opposition. |

I miss Julie. We had some good times together.
Like the time she complained to her mother about me, because I corrected her grammar.
Or the time she asked her loyal readers to explain to her the differences between international hockey and north american hockey.

That’s fantastic.
One is playing against top competition and the other is playing against 3rd and 4th lines in heavily sheltered mins. And that player is magically expected to replace the other player next season. |
