But my point is what did you expect ROR to say? Those teams just sucked. They lost because they sucked, not because of bad calls by refs. So after the game, and another loss, half a dozen guys point mikes in your face and say “How are you gonna turn this around?” What do you answer as a leader in a way that doesn’t point fingers at others?
- Der Kaiser

Go watch any post game interview with him after a loss, then go watch another one after a different loss, and then a third, he says the same exact thing over and over again.

Talk about a stale message from your "leader"

You know after 7 or 8 bad losses in a row, you're allowed to show emotion and some fire, not just moping around status quo.

Dallas Stars acquire F Andrew Cogliano from Anaheim for F Devin Shore.

Dominos?

I like mid season trades before the deadline for some reason, even small ones

Sadly I believe you're correct

This is the time Botts should be looking at moving a few players

Sobotka
Okposo (I wish)
Sheary (I like him as a 3rd liner but he has been useless since the first 10 games)
Scandella
Ellie
Wilson

Just to clear some contracts off and open some spots for the younger guys

Yeah but he is signed for only 2 more years at $3.25 million cap hit (Cogliano), not 4 more years at a $6 million cap hit

There is a small handful (3-4) group of people who will come to the defense of ROR no matter what. Despite how ridiculously wrong they are and how the trade of him to seemingly get him out of the locker room makes it blatantly obvious.

You have one who logs on at 5am to actively root against the trade we made

The other who will argue against the guy he wants to trade for because someone said he was better than Oreilly

The other seems to defend his character to the death.

Then MLew65 who thinks Oreilly is a space turtle from Venus or something

Space Turtles needs to stick

I am not one to bash ROR constantly, I have made my view point of him several times, good player, over paid, and while there may or may not have been a big issue with him in the locker room there was clearly some in the organization that felt he needed to be moved for a few reasons and one of which was to make this Jack's team.

The only reason I brought him up in my post was because it had everything to do with how Eichel handled the post game after how the last 10 minutes of the 3rd went.

It was relevant, but I guess that was me just being silly...

Keep a close eye on those Ducks...

We're told Jakob Silfverberg is likely next to be moved out of Anaheim.

Doesn't fit the age and is a pure rental but I am interested what the price would be for him, just so the market starts to make some sense.

UB Men's Basketball ranked #16 in the country

I wish they would have had a better showing against Marquette (who is #15) but they are really doing something special for a college program from Buffalo.

There’s no use arguing “was ROR a valuable piece on this team” because people have their minds made up.

And your evaluation of ROR is mostly legit issues - how did he play; what was his salary; did he get along with other players in the room; was there a power struggle with Jack? I ask all those same question in evaluating ROR, and for the locker room stuff, I don’t know the answers.

But this crap about “he gave the same answers all the time” is just as I said. Silly.

There was no other answer he could give that wouldn’t have thrown somebody else in the organization under the bus.

And I agree with you that Jack gave the right answers on Saturday NOT blaming the refs.

Marquette probably isn't going to shoot as well as they did against UB again this year. They're a good shooting team, especially Markus Howard, but that was ridiculous.

EDIT: I guess this is the time of year to start watching everyone's Bracketology.

CBS has them as a 6 seed. https://www.cbssports.com...-basketball/bracketology/

ESPN has them as a 5. http://www.espn.com/mens-...e-basketball/bracketology

The Sabres are generating more chances and giving up fewer good ones. The own goals have been bad luck but that will correct itself, probably.

I smell a win streak (maybe not in a row but 10 game outlook will improve dramatically) avec un peu de secondary scoring coming. And suddenly fans will claim this is a cup contender again based off 10 games.
