WHAT?!?!
Come on dude
That’s insane - jdfitz77
They are rebuilding now. Thompson the first and second rounders would have helped St.Louis more then ROR could 5 years from now. Still a chance St.Louis finishes bottom 10 this year and hands us a top 10 pick next year. Even if they make it out of the bottom this year and hand us the 11th or 12th overall pick I’ll be giddy. There are a quite a few players that will go in the 10-20 range this year that we’ll look back on and go holy crap. I just hope Botts snags a couple of them. Trading one top 6 C away for two top 6 players that are much younger is a win in my books. |

It is certainly a F heavy draft, especially strong at C. Having possibly two top 15 picks could be could go a long way to fortifying the Offense...but likely 2 - 3 years before they see them |

It MAY very well turn out this way, but you’re counting a lot of chickens that haven’t hatched. |

I think that franchise deserves to be dissolved.
Not to say ours or Edmonton's has been run much better. |

i would say there is just as much of a chance that we traded him away for a never gonna be good enough young player, a bust of a draft pick, a should be 4th line overpaid center and a guy who refused to put his skates on for us.... |

Bud, he’s a Sabre fan actively rooting for this trade to fail.
What do you think he thinks? |

Slight edge ... agreed.
Would be kinda cool to see some of the Bills lace up the skates. I'd like to see Tremaine Edmunds on D nailing somebody as they crossed over the blue line. |

I know I am late to the party:
But what Eichel said post game is exactly what I want my leader to do. Not blame the refs, not look for excuses, not to say I need to be better (ROR).
You could tell he was upset but he handled it well.
Of course we all wanted him to lay into the refs, but the last thing he wants as a young captain is to get on the bad side of the refs.
He handled it pretty well.

The Sabres lost - somebody needed to be better. Who would you like the leader to identify? |

Agreed on everything but Phil Housley should’ve had an outburst that kind of fire teammates love
But on to the next game

C.J. Smith had a hat trick in his first game back in the minors on Saturday night.
Smith was returned to the minors on Friday because the Sabres got Jack Eichel back from injury. He scored his first NHL goal earlier in the week and had some extra jump to his game.
Okposo says, good morning all. |

It's not silly content, ROR said the same thing over and over again after each loss.
Eichel handled it better than any of the Sabres captains/leaders the last 6 years.
They were playing the best team in the league and they were called for 3 extremely weak iffy calls in the last 10 minutes.
He didn't take a run at the refs, he didn't mope about it. He answered the questions like he was supposed to.

I like when everything is going to hell and he just stands there chewing his gum like a cow. No emotion. Doesn't say a word to any player or staff. That is the kind of head coach i like and prefer. |

But my point is what did you expect ROR to say? Those teams just sucked. They lost because they sucked, not because of bad calls by refs. So after the game, and another loss, half a dozen guys point mikes in your face and say “How are you gonna turn this around?” What do you answer as a leader in a way that doesn’t point fingers at others? |

maybe after The All-Star break they can call both CJ, nylander up to put some fire under some under performing players |
