Don't forget we know that this management in Ottawa traded a good player for less than they could've got from a divisional opponent so that he was out of the division. - Wetbandit1
Um.....
Your guess is as good as anyone else guess when it comes to who else was available for trade.
Even if all of that is true, their GM change made it very clear they aren't tearing down. They have a lot of talent just hitting, or close to the NHL. - Lunaion
I seriously doubt the flyers move a 2c who's signed for a few more years at a cheap salary.
You think the GM could possibly be saying something the season ticket holders and fanbase want to hear?
Who wants to hear:
Prepare for suffering?
I like coot as a trade target from the Sabres perspective though. It takes 2 too tango
Do you not remember when Ottawa traded Hoffman to San Jose and then San Jose turned around and got more than they paid to send him to Florida? - Wetbandit1
You bring up a good point.
But, I'm not sure you can %100 say "they got more"
Prospects are hard to judge value, it wasn't just picks moving around.

Well done though. - Boss34
No, you're absolutely right. I wasn't really talking about the prospects because they're mostly meh. San Jose ended up with the best picks and was able to rid themselves of Boedker. And either way, even if it was about the same value it still shows that Ottawa would rather deal players outside the division, and I'd rather have what San Jose got then what Ottawa got for Hoffman.
Also, (frank) Tom Brady, (frank) Bill Belichick, and (frank) the city of Boston, (frank) the whole lot of them. - Wetbandit1
I want Brady to win every Super Bowl in every season that he plays in. I have taken emotion out of my sports and appreciate greatness. I want to see more of it.
Tom Brady has never played the Bills in a meaningful game.

Maybe hit the mute. So what if they won the SB that year? Week 1 is a pretty meaningful game.
How big are their shoulder pads? Holy poop. It's like watching 70's games with how big they are. Half those hits would be penalties today, for sure Adams' TD would've been called back on an illegal crack-back block.
I appreciate the greatness. I can also hate his guts. I'm capable of holding two thoughts in my head at once, three is where it gets tricky. I felt the same way about Eric Lindros and feel that way about Sidney Crosby.
Every team has misses yes, but we have 4 chances and only really 2 impact players away from being elite. So we only need to go 50%. There is also a chance we move a guy after he’s drafted if we get a coveted player in the 21-24 age range. There is nobody we can trade for imo this year using our first rounders that fit our time line. Even Duchene id wait till July 1st. I’d take my chances on an 18 year old I can have under locks for 10 years then a 25-28 year old player that might only have 2-3 sold years left. How much better would Columbus be rn if they just kept Couterier and Voracek instead of trading for Jeff Carter ? How much better would Toronto be if they didn’t trade for Kessel and selected Seguin and Hamilton ? - Pegullaville
Ok...
but you’re discounting how Pitt won Cups with Kessel playing a huge role
And LA the same with Carter
Works both ways though
Difference is...
one way,
you KNOW you’re getting a great player
The other way,
you’re HOPING the guys you’d draft turn into them
We’re only 2 impact players away?
Ok
Then trade for 1 (using one 1st +)
Sign another (Duchene / Stone)
Now we’re “contenders”
And still have three 1sts left to draft & HOPEFULLY develop into difference makers as well
But if they don’t...
then we aren’t waiting around wasting 4 or 5 years of Jack & Dahlin
with all due respect, Buffalo just doesn't really have the pieces needed to replace a guy like Couts in a trade imo.
Eichel and Dahlin are obviously untouchable which leaves guys like Reinhart, Mittelstadt, Risto, Guhle, Nylander, etc.
Flyers get an actual legit coach and guys like Myers, Frost, NAK, Rubstsov, Vorobyev, Ratcliffe, etc can step in; we're still in good shape going forward.
Farabee, Hagg, Voracek, Laughton, Raffl, 2019 2nd, 2020 3rd for Mittelstadt, Reinhart, Guhle, and Nylander
