I'm going to take a lot of heat for this but, I don't trust either goalie that we have moving forward.

Even strength points since 2016-17

O'Reilly-91 AAV 7.5 mil

Couturier-121 AAV 4.3 mil

So you're including Couturier's one amazing season, and ignoring the rest of his career conveniently, while disregarding the consistency of he-who-shall-not-be-named

dude, we were 2nd in the nhl when 12 teams were tied for like 14th. it was november.

The flyers once won 13 in a row and finished 11th in the east. They were playing well above their capabilities, making a move based on 1/8th of the season never ends well.

- Sabresfan-365

you asked, I answered the FACT remains they were in great shape, now they are out.

1/8 of the season is now 1/2 of the season, and what has he done NOTHING.

Why the (frank) do I care what the flayers did...

I still believe that Ullmark will be good but he needs move time in net, can he be a reliable backup? can he be more? The only way to find out is for him to play.

Hutton I've really soured on... He does some of the same dumb poop that miller used to do, makes a fantastic save then get caught behind the net and give them a free goal. I really don't like his game on the goal line...

and (frank) the pats!

You're getting closer, but why not compare them apples-to-apples over the course of their careers? 8 years

Because I don't care what happened 8 years ago, dude cmon

Couturier peaked later in his career and is now much better than ROR and much cheaper. I dont know why you need data from 2012, we ain't there anymore. The game is totally different too.

So consistentcy over the course of a career is not a better indicator of future success than one and a half outlier seasons in a career of 8 years?

I’m sure you’ll see it the same with other Sabres.

Quick, compare Reinhart and Draisaitl. Dras is obviously much better, right?

Reinhart is a young player who has improved his point totals every year over his career. Couturier had 6 seasons under 40 points to start his career, and hit a huge uptick last year. To your point as to why Philly would trade him, why not sell high on an asset who has outperformed his averages, especially when your team is garbage?

Im tapping out dude. Natural stat trick only does 3 year totals and I honestly don't give a poop. Think what you want.

2019, gotta pick my battles lol

Again, all you need to do is take a quick peak at the numbers.

Couturier scored 10+ EV goals on the third line in 60’ish games since he was 21.

He was used as a defensive center until Schenn and others were moved out and he got PP time.

He’s always been really good with the exception of 15-16.

Wait, so you want to trade for a guy who’s really not that good and had a big uptick one year? Seems like a bad idea

I can’t even tell what you are arguing anymore. Is Couturier good or nah?

It’s turned into him arguing against the guy he wants us to trade for because you said he’s better than O’Reilly.

Fitz and him are borderline bizarre about ROR

If you're looking for a comparable situation to trading Couturier, look no further than the ROR trade. That's what I'm saying. ROR is gone and is never coming back. I'm not concerned with him, at all. Not my circus, not my monkey. 365 brought up ROR, not me

No offense dude, but you literally did a 180 to arguing against Couturier and calling him a one year wonder basically, the second 365 said he was the better player.

There’s no reasoning after that.
