God forbid we add Couturier and only have 2 firsts in the next 2 years - jcragcrumple
Reinhart, Mittelstadt, Lukkonen and the highest 1st rounder.
That's probably what it would take, and Im not even sure they'd listen to that. |

didn't you want something like Thomas, Kyrou and a 1st?
at any rate, nylander doesn't equal domi. - Sabresfan-365
I didn't like St. Louis as a trading partner. I wanted either Fabbri or Thomas with a 1st as part of a deal with them. My preferred trade always centered on Domi, about whom most people were saying things like "Girgensons has as many non empty net goals LOLOLOLOL."
EVERYBODY LAUGHED
Regardless, my trade requires Philly to take on no long term dead contracts. I suspect I could make up trades all day, though, and people will say "Philly would never accept that!" Until I come up with a trade and people will say "That's way too much to give up! Nice job, GMTM" |

Yea cause the flyers are going to trade the one guy that’s probably untouchable on their roster. The flyers will move Voracek and Simmonds before Couts. I’d even move the 32 year old Giroux before I move Couts. |

That's more or less my point though. They ask a lot of him and he delivers, at a discounted price. The price to acquire him will be murray esque. |

It’s not that, it’s why on earth is Philly trading their young top center?
If anything it’s Voracek and Simmonds who get moved |

Giroux gets moved before Couts. We have a better chance of winning any of the three lotteries for the top 3 picks then we do of acquiring any of the guys posters on here think we can get with any of our first rounders. Couterier is the last guy that gets moved on that philly team unless you overpay big time by a gross amount. |

Coturier is having a down year by his standards but at his age/price they'll bet on him bouncing back rather than sell low i imagine. |

This is the hilarious part of HB. Our 4 firsts are untouchable gold, until trade proposals involving them are brought up. At that point, the team accepting those precious 1sts would be crazy to accept such a low price |

Everyone has a price. What do you think the price for Couturier is? - jcragcrumple
Probably Mitts + |

Again, why is Philly trading him?
These hypothetical trades work for guys like Duchene |

Pats game is already a joke
I just don't understand why refs in sports help teams win when they're already dominating a game.
Such a joke. |

This hilarious part of HB is that you think the flyers will trade Couts. Maybe if we gave them 4 1sts but in that case let’s offer sheet Matthews then. |

We just traded a guy who is very similar to Couturier, under very similar circumstances |

Instead of deflecting sadness and misery on to me, why don't you tell me why Botts doesn't deserve a pass for not making a move yet.
My point to him was, 2/3 of the league has been inactive. As far as I can recall, it takes two (2) teams at minimum to make a trade. Botts could be offering the farm and Kim, if nobody's down, there's not much he can do. - Sabresfan-365
Do you really need more of a reason to go from 2nd in the NHL, to currently out of the playoffs and in 14th place in the NHL? Come on he sat and watched that entire lead in points evaporate... what message does that send to the fans, to the players to Skinner? We don't care if we make the playoffs? |

dude, we were 2nd in the nhl when 12 teams were tied for like 14th. it was november.
The flyers once won 13 in a row and finished 11th in the east. They were playing well above their capabilities, making a move based on 1/8th of the season never ends well. |

All the reasons we traded ROR don't apply to couturier |

I think you need to pump the brakes on how good Couturier is. He has 1 season over 40 points. I know - it's 76 points. And he's on pace for a ROR-like 64 points this year. To say this guy is untouchable is ridiculous imo |

Even strength points since 2016-17
O'Reilly-91 AAV 7.5 mil
Couturier-121 AAV 4.3 mil
And fwiw, Couturier has received tougher defensive assignments/zone starts than ROR. |

He was a Selke finalist last year. |
