I guess the 10 game win streak was an aberration.

I get the line changing, BUT.

Last might was painfully obvious that guy don't know where the other guy is going to be... Bad passes because someone stopped skating or turn off. there was quit a few of those on the defensive pairing last night as well.

I just don't know how you build chemistry with anyone when you are changing lines as much as we are.. I hated it with
the other guy and hate it with Housley.

Yet another horrible blog - as usual. The worst.

Has anybody ever mentioned the cool move Skinner does when entering the opponents zone ? It's like a little figure skating pirouette ?? Love that move ... and defensemen don't know how to play it. He seems to be mocked for his figure skating background, but I believe it really helps !

Allow me to clarify. The blogs are fine, i'm just sick of people saying "great blog, Michael !" all the time. AND, for my new years resolution, i'm trying to be more of an A-hole in 2019 - if that's even possible. It'll be tough, but I'll give it the ol' college try.

Sabres fans have been so spoiled with goaltending for a good deal of the last 30 years that when they get an average guy they think he sucks, like doesn't belong in the league sucks. Or even a good goalie(Miller) that gets compared to maybe the best ever and comes in pretty much right after he leaves. That's a tough act to follow.

I can't recall ever seeing 3 own goals off defensemen in the same game before. That being said, Carolina has been pushing shot advantage and high danger scoring chances all year and not getting goals; it wasn't surprising to see some flukes go in all things considered.

I was all for putting Tage on the first line but that ended badly. I am sure it was talked about last blog, but man did Williams make him look like a chump on that goal.

Thompson was gassed. He looked like a chump, but I don't blame him, really. He got stuck in a bad place. Maybe he could have tried to change on the backcheck? That's usually frowned upon. I don't think Thompson is a good fit on that line though

The point of the switch wasn’t because Thompson was better than Sam, it was to try and get secondary scoring with Sam on another line.

They need to continue to try something

I don't think I've ever seen Sam shoot the puck like he did last night. Actual, solid SOG. Sometimes I wonder how he made it to the NHL with some of the shots he's taken, the most limp-wristed godawful shots I've ever seen in an NHL game. And this is coming from a big fan of his.

Skinner and Thompson played well together.
