Yeah, from last place last year, but let's not mention that. You're acting like you expected them to compete for the cup this year. They're exactly where I thought they'd be.

bullpoop.... I expect them to try and make the (frank)ing playoffs, they obviously don't give a (frank) about that....

There are no quick fixes man. Good thing Botts doesn't think like you though or else we'd be rebuilding for another 20 after you Tim Murray us over and over again.

We're not winning the cup this year.

We WEREN'T winning the cup before the year started

We WEREN'T winning the cup, despite the 10 game win streak.

Patience.

Botts isn't going to make a panic trade, and he CERTAINLY IS NOT Darcy 2.0. He is methodically cleaning up Murray's mess. We'll be alright.

Better luck next time at least they played hard against one of the best teams

Just have to finish opportunities instead of letting the refs Decide the game

HE doesn't need to, but he should have made a hockey trade to shore up the depth in the top-9

And he should have done it 10 games ago

Good. Two top 15 picks helps this team more then getting swept in the first round by Tampa or Washington. What move do you want Botts to makethis year to even have a sniff of winning a playoff series ? Lets mortgage the future and bring in Kane and ROR and rush everything again....
- Pegullaville

Let's try it this way.

Some people might not be around "next year".
The tired old "next year" mantra is more than annoying now.

Perhaps some playoff hockey for the home team would make some people happy, is that such a bad thing?

This is Buffalo.
I've been around a while now.

The "next year" drum has been beaten to death, especially for some older folks fighting cancer that may not see a "next year" !

How many "next years" will you be around for, hmmmm?

Not sure what game you were watching? Risto was no where as bad as pilut and scandella. Pilut had that turnover in the 3rd that changed the whole game - not sure why housley has him out against kucherovs line, he does have final change. Scandella is a nightmare in front of his net, led directly to two or three goals against. Ullmark has to make a save or two in the third too and jacks line had to be more of a factor, they were a nonfactor on the PP. On a bright note, Dahlin was sudebly amazing. He's getting more confident/better by the game and will be our best player by next year. typical refereeing make up calls - pathetic. Funny how they were afraid to make the proper call on sergachev but make the one on Pilut. Experienced championship level team vs a young inexperienced one. Compete level and competitiveness this year.is light years ahead of last year. I like how Take is progressing and Pilut, despite tonight. Dahlin is better than hyped which is crazy. Middelstadt is my major disappointment, but I think his wingers have a lot to do with it
- turbo044

Tage is gonna be good/better.
Pilut still learning .hope he keeps it up
Mitts is talented but too young to judge. give him another season. He is playing better than Sam in his first season.

Not when a month ago we were in the top 3....Tell me what kind of message this sends to jack and Skinner.... Maybe next year (the Buffalo Sabres Call to arms for the last 10 + years....

Wait until next year.... Wait until we draft in the top ten, If I'm Skinner Im Telling the Sabres thanks but no thanks.....

- gordong

And not 8 months ago we were the first team in history to finish 31st. This year is about progress and compete. Bad streak here but they're in every game. Wasting a 1st round pick on an expiring contract would be idiotic. We were up 3-2 in the third against the best team the league has seen in a while. Bad play by pilut, refereeing melt down and we lose. Oh, did I say TB was in buffalo last night too, watching the sabres play in Carolina. Perspective.

They're one GD point out of the playoffs.

You're acting like they're bottom 5 again.

They're young. Ups and downs, peaks and valleys. It's going to happen.

They have a guy that could be the BEST defenseman in the league in 2 years. Yes, they have dead weight, but a few of them will be gone next year. Botts is doing fine. From where they were to where they are is amazing.

Do I give a poop if he tried to? I didn't say he should have TRIED to, I said he SHOULD HAVE made one.

Plain and simple.

That assumes there is/was a trade to be made. Everyone's been saying, "no (frank)ing way should they give up a first". What player are they going to trade to get a 2C if not a 1st round pick? And what giant hole would that create?

I have no idea. Life isn't guaranteed. I might not be around tomorrow for all I know. I'm sorry that the Sabres haven't been able to win the cup yet but no trade is going to win us a cup this year. We could always go for it this year but we might pay for it the next 10 years. If Murray showed the same patience as Botts did we wouldn't have wasted the last 5 years of our precious lives, however we wouldn't have Dahlin.
