Bruins know that they stole this one.
- TrashPanda

I dont think they stole it, they are a top end defensive team and the Leafs couldn't get past them once they had the lead going into the third. They made a game of it in the end but Boston is too good at clearing the front of the net and getting the puck out in the defensive zone. Leafs didn't really put a tonne of sustained pressure on the Bruins in the offensive zone.

Better than last game vs the Bruins and it seems like a more even matchup, but still have a ways to go before they can beat this team.

He can come, as long as he continually throws jabs at Prince and UG

I wouldn't say a ways, just need some improvement on the blue line and some better decision making.

This is all Gardiners fault. Every goddamn time its the Bruins he is always the one to blame. Errant turnover machine. Not worth keeping. Everyones like “look at his points, look at his stats”. Guy needs to play where there is no pressure like Florida. And Hainsey is trash too. We have a stud defenseman in Rielly playing with anchor Hainsey, we have 2nd pairing turnover machine Gardiner playing with overpaid statistically terrible Zaitsev, and inexperienced Dermott and Ozhiganov. Our defense is as bad as Vancouvers

Rask made the tough saves. Hutch did not.

It’s the classic “it’s not the goalies fault but didn’t play well either”

But a game like this is not really the all the blueline's fault. I mean, they do need a better blueline for sure but I dont see how that helps the Leafs overcome the Bruins defensive game. The Leafs had no room out there and though they had the puck a lot, it didnt seem like they were able to get many uncontested scoring chances. The Bruins forwards and D are really good at blocking shots, tipping passes and boxing out the fwds so they dont get 2nd and 3rd chances. Until the Leafs can battle through that stuff I don't see them being able to score enough to beat the Bs in a 7 game series.

I can't say it was completely lopsided because a couple Boston guys really whiffed on empty netters, but man its crazy how many players on the Leafs are snakebitten, especially considering how close the game was.
Matthews, Kadri and Nylander all had multiple high end chances and couldn't convert. I feel like the leafs shooting percentage has to be awful and it's a lot of bad luck.

I'm not sure what game you were watching, it really looks like Toronto was the better team. You said earlier they couldn't sustain any pressure in the Bruins zone, but I saw quite a bit of that in the third.

Haha come on, gotta give credit where credit is due, the Bruins shut it down in the third, Leafs couldn't really get in to the zone and when they did the Bs won a lot of the puck battles. They had the puck on the perimeter but when it came close to the net the Bruins didnt give them much. It's classic Bruins hockey.

And the first. After the first five minutes they were all over them. It was borderline dominating.
Even Hughson said they were coming in waves.
