He has no lateral movement whatsoever. He can only square himself to the first shot and whatever happens happens. Which is a big problem because he gives up a lot of rebounds too. He's just not a starting goalie and really should be getting <20 games a year on any given team. - Pomegrant
I think that is a reason we were all blown away by Mck. He so quick laterally that we just arent used to that. |

KK gives up way too easily. Seems like he doesnt even try. - Leniwm1
Yup. He sucks on second chances and can’t squeeze his arms together for poop. Gives up too easily. Can’t wait till we get a 7th in 2020 for him |

Yeah, you're right for sure. Mac's movement lets him at least have a chance to make a stop but with Kinkaid and Schneider they are stuck in place when they go down. |

Always new Tavares was a top player in the league but now that he has actual players around him, he's just lethal. |

Babcock goes in the room and yells at his team for a couple of minutes. Come out and torch us for another 3+ goals. Very predictable. |

Yeah, I’m thinking at least 70% of the play in our zone for the third. |

I was impressed the Devils fought back and got into the game, but I have to wonder how much of that was Toronto taking their foot of the gas.
It's sad that the only thing to look forward to is the trade deadline and the draft. |

You keep making posts about how Lovejoy is good and Butcher is bad.
Lovejoy has a 48.8 CF% while Butcher has 54.2 CF%, which is a huge difference. And yeah, Lovejoy is getting 56.1% defensive zone starts to Butcher's 40.7% but that is exactly what you'd expect from these players. Butcher is averaging two more minutes of ice time per game too.
I don't buy this narrative that Lovejoy is a good player and less so when compared to other better players on the team. - Pomegrant
I'm right there with you, to say that Vats or Butch aren't playing well is silly. Lovejoy has been a liability every time he is on the ice IMO. I would rather have players trying to control or take control of the puck than have a "defensive d-man" who doesn't play defense well... and ultimately just screens the goalie for the other team.
all in all, at least the other blue liners are giving the illusion of effort.
I will say that Butcher needs to get more confidence in his shot, let the gritty guys like coleman and boyle catch those rebounds off the goalie pads.

I think the trade deadline will be very quiet for us
Who of value can bring us anything of note back?
Boyle can be traded but what would he fetch?
Mojo would be our biggest piece but who knows if he will be healthy and teams won't overpay for that
Kinkaid a mid pick
It's pretty much the off-season and draft where things may happen |
