I always felt the character Sheldon is a high functioning Asperger personality.
And I love the show, for the very reason non geeks hate it. I love Star Trek, and Star Wars, and sci fi and gaming, and all that other socially awkward stuff.
I find the show very relateable. - MBFlyerfan
I like all of those things too, and I am an engineer. We are "geeks" by reputation. Still can't stand his character. |

That is because he is an bumhole.
An bumhole with Aspergers syndrome, but an bumhole nonetheless....lol

I don't know about that and think it's the exact opposite.
I work in tech and love the pop culture stuff you mentioned and so do many of the people I work with. In the circles I travel in, this show is considered kinda stupid. |

I would agree with everything you said. If you have been to E3 or ComicCon raise your hand because you just lived the Big Bang Theory |

I agree with you on this.
Conversely, my fiancee, who has never worked in an office, doesn't really get either of these. - johndewar

That is a non-issue for me. Bernie Parent had no playoff success until 1974.
SB is a very good goalie. I don't even have concerns that he would "block" Hart. - Scoob
How would he not block Hart? Hart looks close to ready as it is. Bob will be looking for a contract with term as well. |

I took my wife to the Star Trek TNG 25th anniversary convention. However, we went for the sole reason of her getting a picture of Patrick Stewart, and the other people there were a little too much for us.
However, Brent Spiner was hilarious, and Jonathan Frakes is a creep. |

Hart is 2-4-1 with a 2.68 gaa and .909 save percentage. If you take out his 2 off games hes 2.23 gaa and .931 save percentage. I dont want to pencil him as our number 1 goalie but I dont want him as anything less than a split time 1a 1b situation at this point. |

Hart looks good. He's 20 and nowhere near fully developed as a player. He could have a big sophomore slump. I still think the time to be able to rely on him as a true #1 won't be until he is 23 (maybe 22). Until then the Flyers need a big upgrade in the crease from Elliott/Neuvirth. Richarding around with mid-tier goalies won't cut it. If a big fish becomes available I think they have to go for it. |

Agreed, I havent watched new episodes in years. - MBFlyerfan
Once all the characters got settled into long term relationships, it went downhill fast. The first 3-4 seasons though are hysterical |

Alright, even if so, Bob isn't signing a 2-3 year deal. It does not make sense for us to target him. |

Yup don’t see the need to expend assets to get Bob nor sign him to a long term big money deal. Sign a guy like Jimmy Howard to a 2 year deal and he can split time with Hart next year and be his backup in 20-21. |

Been in the IT-IS world for all 23 years of my career with the last 11 being at a very high level.
Also grew up with the Xfiles, TNG and AD&D.
Some things were funny to me on Big Bang then it just started to get old and repetitive. Now I haven't watched it in probably 5 years.

Lol you are wrong my friend. - ClaudeFather
You're wrong in saying that I'm wrong. How many times do you have to be burned by posts like this. I stated one thing and only one thing and that's that there was debate on it. If you look at the previous thread, you'll see in fact that here as debate on it. So now step up and show how I'm wrong.

Bob is getting 8 years 80+ million. I like Varlamov a lot. I'd go up to 4 years on him. 6ish per. Career .916 and 2.7 guy. And been really good for the most part the last few years. |

That scene where Michael Bolton destroyed the printer was VERY cathartic. |

I do. I think a goalie like BOB would demand to be the #1 guy. He's on pace for his 3rd straight 60+ start season. He can also back this up through his play. I think we would be setting ourselves up for another impasse with BOB. Carter Hart is ready. I'd rather sign a veteran that can help Hart with his continued development and take 20-25 or so starts next season. What would it cost to get BOB? I am not familiar with his contract situation.
I'd say target another vet that won't mind being the #2. Of course, BOB could tell us he doesn't mind splitting time, but I don't know that to be the case with him. He's always wanted the net (and rightfully so). |

I'm a Software Engineer, I have friends at some gaming studios and bigger software companies and for the most part they all find it funny. It all depends on the person. I knew a guy who would not use a public restroom ever, he would schedule his breaks to go home. To me that is hilarious. |

Honestly they just don’t make good sitcoms anymore. There are no sitcoms today that are even remotely as funny as the early seasons of MASH, Cheers or Taxi. |

Maybe, but the guy is a tool. I really don’t want to sign any vet goalie for more than3 years max. |

There are some who enjoy sci-fi culture and there are some who take it to the extreme, extremes tend to be cringy, but can funny if looked at a certain perspective. |
