What it actually says is:

"All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits)."

AHL seasons after the age of 20 count as pro seasons.

- Feanor

I'm not saying you're wrong. We discussed it last night and there are links to the NHL website that says NHL players. Might be wrong but that's why there was debate.

Center Ice on Comcast kinda sucks: no HD
- Scoob

Once I moved back to the area I didn't renew Center Ice. We had Direct TV with Center Ice (all had HD options). It was fantastic. I believe Comcast blocked the Flyers feed on Center Ice for a few years. I actually went 3-4 years without hearing JJ. Unless NHL Network picked up their feed. I got really good at tuning out all the announcers. Jack Edwards is the biggest homer of them all. Total duche.

The best was living in Illinois. All the home games started at 6pm (CT) so I'd watch the game and still have time to help get the kids to bed.

Anyone with any ideas on the Bob drama Ek posted?
- opeth_pa

He wanted a boat off of Dry Island and there were none running that day. So he swam across the lagoon. Team became upset because it's shark infested waters and he's under contract.

End of story.

There are still multiple episodes that kill me every time I watch them.

Aa a show it would never fly in the snowflake era though.

- opeth_pa

I liked Seinfeld when it was on and even occasionally in syndication.

It just hasn't aged well for me on re-watch.

If that was the case, that it was only NHL seasons, then the Flyers would not have had to use a protection slot on Stolarz.

The show has not aged well IMO
- johndewar

Only because TV has changed. Laugh tracks and studio audiences are a thing of the past, as are most sitcoms.

But the material/comedy still holds up remarkably well.

The Big Bang Theory is objectively bad IMO
- johndewar

I agree, but it does have its supporters and for a time it was the number one rated show in terms of audience. Weird

Violated the team's "No more than 2 Russian prostitutes in the locker room per game" rule.

I disagree. That scene where Puddy dresses up like the Devil as a Devils fan...that never gets old.

I don't understand how this show is funny/enjoyable. Ranked #1 as you said and I don't know a soul who watches it.

Regarding Provy, I am still quite intrigued by the "longer stick" suggestion that Eddie O threw out there a few months back. I know I've brought this up way too much on this site, but it is the only thing that makes sense to me. Part of it could be teams have more aggressive forechecks this year which forces him into turnovers. Or teams could have a scouting report on him that says he doesn't see the ice well and to pressure him.

Now, the team as a whole has under-performed and the D pairings took a little while to gel this year. A lingering injury, maybe. No other explanation for his poor play has made sense. Playing a little more upright to see the ice better which would help with passing??? Ding! Ding! Ding!

There is an adjustment period to switch to a longer stick so maybe he waits till the summer to experiment. I'd be open to it if I were him.

I get the idea, but the shorter stick wasn't an issue his first 2 seasons. I think it's part physical and part mental with him right now. The mental part is the more worrisome of the 2.

Last year the HD was a separate kind of Beta channel, you clicked that channel and then had to select the team you wanted to watch I forget if it was done by division and then alphabetically..
This was just outside Phila NW suburbs

I am more curious what don't you find funny about it?

Personally I have found the people who find it stupid consider themselves too smart to find humor in it. It is social awkwardness and geek humor at it's finest. Has the show gotten long in the tooth, no doubt, but early seasons were hilarious.

It really is no different than Seinfeld, yes it is cleverly written, but it is no more than "haha it's funny because it's true". More people relate to it because it focuses on stupid things people have done in life and can laugh about it knowing others have experienced the same stupidity in their life.

Did the shorter stick bother him the last two seasons?
Unless he grew three or four inches vertically in the off season I am going to embrace Occam.

1. Confidence is a female dog
2. He has a nagging injury
3. Add 1 and 2

You would think the surgery recovery was not complete earlier in the season, giving him some range of motion or other issue... No one ever said if he was wearing a brace or some other orthopoedic appliance on the repaired shoulder..

The office, big bang theory, seinfield even friends any of them. Its cringey humor. I've enjoyed episodes of every one. I like listening to shows like this as background noise while doing stuff cause it doesnt need focus but can give you some laughs

There is still some debate about that.
- MJL

There’s no debate unless they are changing the rules from the Vegas draft. Any skater with more than 2 years of pro experience is eligible.

Therefore if the draft is held in 20-21 all Flyer current pros whether here or in LHV are eligible. Anyone who turns pro next year however, are safe.

I just find the character Sheldon unwatchably annoying. Also, not a fan of laugh tracks in general, but Big Bang Theory takes the cake of overuse of them.

Again, this is why Stolarz needed to be protected despite having played 3 AHL years and only 1 year with some NHL games.
