I just want to see entertaining hockey. Now that they don't have to worry about saving the season, I say let's just lose in all new, ridiculous ways.
I want to see a 10 - 8 game.
I want a game where Travis Sanheim gets 30 minutes of ice time.
Play Taylor Leier with Claude Giroux.
Put Jake Voracek on the PK.
Let's get weird with this. |

Well, first of all, this team doesn't need to put anyone on LTIR, IR is fine. But in order to be placed on IR, they need to have a medical exam by a competent doctor who has to deem them unfit to play. I don't think (think, not know) any of them currently fit that criteria. - jmatchett383
Neuvirth should be on IR and his roster spot should have gone to Myers who should have played the last three games. |

Promoting any Phantoms player won't affect their status for the ED.
Myers will have played in four pro seasons by the time of the 2021 ED, so he won't be exempt. Everyone else will have played in at least three, so none of them will be exempt. |

Its not hard to get onto IR. Half the team could likely qualify at this point if the coaches and/or players wanted to. Maybe not long-term, but they likely could. And I'm not advocating players just fake injuries or coaches force players to sit, but if I'm part of the organization and I know that a player needs a surgery to get better or is struggling because of a previous injury, then I'm going to encourage them to take some time and fully heal. I would make sure guys like Provorov and Ghost and whomever would know that this would not affect contract negotiations, or future place on the team. I would let them know that this season is lost, and we need them at top physical health going into next season. And I would tell Provorov that if its the contract he is worried about, then showing the maturity to know when to take time to heal is an important quality to have also. |

I just think the organization likes having him play huge minutes down there. And Friedman. Why bring him up to play sheltered 3rd line minutes.
I know.."He can still develope here". Yes I get that but I think him playing heavy minutes for a team that is competeing for something is beneficial.
Just my thoughts. |

Gordon likes to be clever with his lineups in practice and warmup. In reality, JVR is getting the5th most ice time for forwards since Gordon took over. And has the 3rd most points.

Interesting...so he is getting ice time, putting up points with the worst centers in the league and gets demoted to the 4th line. Obviously Gordon hates his face, has nothing to do with his play.
Clearly the Flyers aren't using JvR correctly says the drunk fan in the nose bleed section |

I’m not advocating a wholesale changeover to an AHL roster. Just certain players that will play no matter what, as we’ve seen in the past.
And yes, I am advocating for a soft tank. We all know a Provorov at 75% is better than whoever would replace him, and that is partly the reason him among other players keep playing as long as they aren’t mathematically eliminated.
I think that philosophy can be put out to pasture this season.
Also it’s fine if you personally don’t like Seinfeld but it’s false to say it’s the most overrated tv series in history. The fact that it is still embedded in our social lexicon is evidence of this.
An overrated show is something like Big Bang Theory. Might be in the running for all time. - StepfordSam
Eh, I'm not saying Seinfeld is bad...I just think it's the greatest show in TV history like some people make it out to be. |

Because the NHL is another level up, and prospects need to play games at that level to further their development.
Waiting till their waiver exemption runs out to promote guys who are excelling at the AHL level makes no sense. |

Again, in the case of Myers, I'm not arguing. I was one of the people saying he should have been a regular since opening night. |

What it actually says is:
"All first- and second-year professionals, as well as all unsigned draft choices, will be exempt from selection (and will not be counted toward their club's applicable protection limits)."
AHL seasons after the age of 20 count as pro seasons. Stolarz had played three AHL seasons after the age of 20, so he wasn't exempt and the Flyers protected him. Hagg had only played two AHL seasons after the age of 20, so he was exempt. |

I won't name names to shame them, but 2 people have made some outrageous offers for Bob...
1) He will be a UFA and no guarantee he re-signs
2) If he does re-sign it WILL be for huge money and term with a NMC
3) If he signs with the Flyers, he WILL be the starter for his term, there will be no trade him when Hart is ready or make him backup
Just things to keep in mind |

Violated the team's "No more than 2 Russian prostitutes in the locker room per game" rule. |
