Yup I’m still watching every game.

I’d like to see Provorov, Konecny, Sanheim, Ghost, and Patrick and the other young players take the reins. Their future is here. It’s their team now, become the leaders.

Would love to see some other guys on LHV get a shot too.

Getting to watch Hart this year and seeing the growth of Sanheim are the main positives for me.
Can Sanheim take the next step to improve his play in the defensive zone to become a top pair D man? I think he can. The way he joins the rush is great to see. Hart has been everything one could hope for in his first handful of games.

Um no.

Some of these players probably have bonus incentives so I am sure they would like to reach them. Also players have pride and if not injured want to play. And guys are playing for jobs and contracts.

The players have a funny way of showing all this pride they have.

Center Ice on Comcast kinda sucks: no HD
- Scoob

Brutal, gone the Center Ice route for 5 years, will be switching to the online model. NHL TV or whatever it is. Smart TVs make it a no brainer nowadays.

Only when it comes to the ones about the girl who sleeps with every man in New York, the unfunny comic, the wacky zany racist guy, and the fat short ugly man who gets hot women but breaks up with them over a tiny, insignificant flaw.

Hyperbole
- StepfordSam

So, by your rationale, once a team is figuratively eliminated from the playoffs, they should immediately waive a bunch of their roster players to clear space for a bunch of their young kids to come up and play? Or are we just calling up 2-3 kids and forcing our better vets to sit out the rest of the season?

Playing with pride and executing are too different things.

This team just can't seem to execute or play the right way. But i still feel the players have a pride

I agree, trying to enjoy the positives. Especially Sanheim. Enough games left for Patrick to find his groove and feel confident going into next year.

It's an overly-simplified opinion of a since-dead TV show, not an idea for a multi-million dollar organizaton.

I didn’t say anything of the sort. I mentioned players that play through stupid injuries that are too hard headed to sit out and recover like Simmonds did last season should sit.

I mentioned Provorov because it is my opinion there is something still physically wrong with his shoulder after playing through it last year, since, according to him, if his arm is still attached he will play through it.

i'm going tonight and still have tickets to about 6 games. even when they are playing this poorly i will still go and root for the Flyers. i will always get a thrill watching pros play hockey regardless of outcome.
watching the elite players on other teams is also worth the ticket price in my opinion.

Ok, this is good. Now that the delusion of making the playoffs this season is finally put to bed, it’s time for the players that are playing injured to call it a season.

The benefit to this is two fold. It will ensure the team doesn’t go on a completely meaningless win streak to put themselves out of a top five pick, and it allows said players to get fully healthy for next season.

I’m thinking Provorov should be at the top of this list. Anyone else?

- StepfordSam

Taking these animals off this idea is the worst idea in the history of bad ideas and I’m gonna be there when you realize this.

Yup.
When I had DirecTV the NHLTV was included when I bought Center Ice so I could watch every game in HD. When I switched to Comcast had I known that Center Ice wouldn't be delivered in HD I wouldn't have bought it.

I understand where you are going with this. I agree that the past few season we have seen players playing hurt and being ineffective. In the case of Giroux we saw him lose almost two seasons while trying to play through his hip issues. We saw Simmonds struggle mightily last season and it looks like it is still effecting his game. Ghost, possibly Provorov.

The problem as I see it is that if you sit all these guys who are possibly playing hurt, you run the risk of hitting cap issues trying to fill in the spots, especially if LTIR comes in to play. And if that happens you need to prove they need to go on LTIR.

I would say shut down those who are really INJURED. Guys playing hurt have to gut it out.

We are fine losing nine!
Feel bad for Hart though.
I hope this toughens the kid mentally, I think he is tough enough to hold up and use this to grow into our Goalie of the future.
Anyone have any idea why Provy has regressed to this extent?
Shoulder not healed, short stick, American girlfriend what is it?

- konalover711

I think Hart is fine mentally. When he lost the gold medal in a shootout he came right back to juniors and continued to dominate. He didn't melt down, he didn't regress, and that is under national scrutiny, not just 1 city.

Not when they can't even skate a full 60 when they're in a huge skid.

Can't even worry about execution yet when the evgort isn't even there for some of these guys.

I want to see Simmer fired up with a Gorde Howe hat trick.
- coffee junkie

That Simmer doesn't exist anymore. No more fighting, no more huge checks, no more sticking up for teammates. These injuries have really affected his game, and at his age its only going to get worse.

Meh, not a fan.

So which players on the Flyers can you tell are actually injured? Please tell me, as I'm not privy to their physical exams. Or are you just basing this on who you think is injured? Also, if they're not on IR, which they clearly aren't since they've been playing, how do you intend to create roster space for their call-up replacements?

Is the whole team injured? Injuries sound like a titanic excuse. JvR was out six weeks with a knee injury at the start of the season and doesn’t get a pass. Simmonds struggles with a foot injury, so pass. These are the most recent big ones.

In the case of Voracek, Patrick, Ghost or Provorov. These guys have to be hurt because they’re popular.

Sure, let's let a bunch of kids play their first NHL games in this mess and use that as a tool to evaluate them.

Makes sense.

- jmatchett383

Yes because there’s nothing to learn about anyone until Voracek learns how to backcheck

I think this is actually a great situation for Hart now.

1. The moron fans finally realize he's not "the savior" so there's no pressure coming from the stands

2. He gets to learn the NHL game with no pressure

3. When they lose it's 99% likely that it won't be his fault so he can just go out there and hone his skills

I definitely agree with that distinction. I think certain players can’t make that distinction on their own, such as Simmonds last season.

Provy is the only guy I think is playing truly injured. His injury at this point if it's still nagging him should be treated with surgery. However I think he and the flyers are both trying to avoid it. It's a contract year for him. He wants to earn that big contract.

To other stuff. I do think we need to "see what we have" in a few guys. But I'm not pushing for waiving and trading 12 guys and making a new ahl roster in the NHL. Like to see nak and ghoul spell weise or weal in some these games. Maybe mich in at 4c for a bit. Bunnaman maybe a late season recall. Dont want anyone from defense up here quite honestly.
