You'd be shocked what a gym would do. Gaining muscle mass is key to losing weight because that raises your metabolism.

not a place for me

I prefer to work out like what Rocky did in Rocky IV when he was in Russia.

I'd rather go to my local community center and swim or ride my bike but I"M A LAZY (frank).

Team sports is where it's at.

It's depressing exercising for no reason.

Nothing wrong with the tall boys on a Saturday instead of the 24.
- TrashPanda

that's for Sunday as well and the rest of the week. not just Saturday.

but now my son plays soccer at the hangar on Saturday night so I need to be sober to drive him there.

I thought that too, but it turns out I ended up liking it. It's amazing how much better you feel after you go for a while - it's addictive. The big thing for me was how much better my brain worked after a period of regular exercise and weight loss. Everything was just so much faster and there was absolutely no brain fog.

When I lost my weight, I had a lot more than a keg to lose. I had a choice between buying bigger pants (which were already a few sizes larger than my natural size) or losing the weight. I'm glad that I chose the latter.

I play balls hockey 3 times a week. Keeps me at a steady 165lb and no extra muscle mass to speak of so I don't balloon into a slob if I stop exercising. It's perfect outside of the fact that it's hard walking around on a windy day.

Why wait? There's nothing wrong with having a few on a Saturday night.

My advice to people is to allow yourself to cheat once in a while, and don't beat yourself up about it. In my experience, people who stick too closely to their 'diet' are usually the ones who break it - and then go overboard after they do.

I'm going to be doing this for sure, told my wife I'm not an alcoholic just a fat slob.

Going to a buddies tonight for the game, for sure going to drink some of his pints.

It's a magic weight-loss formula that not a lot of people know about:

If you don't want to stuff you cake-hole with cake and chips and ranch dressing and frozen pizza pops and cheescake and gravy, don't buy those things and stock them at home.

Crazy, I know...

Everyone in the house doesn't need to lose weight though.

The issue with the Nylander contract isn't that guys who get points shouldn't get paid, they should. The problem is that it was pretty obvious Nylander wasn't going to be a star unless he had Matthews to make him one. I mean, look at Kapanen. He's a good all around player, but he wouldn't be on pace for close to 30 goals without Matthews. Many people saw this about Nylander. He's a pretty good player but he doesn't stir the drink on any line he's on, he's a complementary player. And when you have a guy like Matthews that can make a whole lot of guys look like stars, why pay any of them like thats what they really are?

It's no different than people who think a goalie is a star because he has a great save%, when he's playing behind a top flight defence. Then some GM bites when he's UFA and pays him a pile, and then he isn't good and the GM wonders why. Big money needs to be allocated to guys who make things happen for others, not guys who need others to make them look good.

The Leafs situation with an already allocated cap percentage for sure going to to the top three forwards they have, they can't pay these types big bucks. They just can't. They have so many guys Matthews could play with that could produce well enough they could have let Nylander sit out the entire year. Now they are jumping through hoops, taking Matthews off the first PP unit (he already gets less ice time than other stars), all so they can get their return on a mediocre investment.

That’s why his cap hit is less than 7 and not more than 8.

Yeah. If I decide I want to have a couple of beers I always have to go the lcbo to pick them up, and then I buy what I'll realistically drink. I rarely have any in the fridge (unless I don't drink all that I bought last time), that way there's no temptation. I never buy liquor for that reason.

Honestly, aside from gin (with soda and lime) I don't really enjoy much hard liquor. At least with beer there's more variety

It's easy to only have a few - if you're at home, don't buy so many.
- TrashPanda

So don't buy the 60 pack?

Hard liquor is a two headed beast.

On the one hand, it's lower in calories if you're not mixing it with soda.

On the other hand, it turns some people into monsters, and it's way too easy to pour a triple when you're at home.

Yeah for sure. For beer it's easy to track what you've had (both from a calorie perspective, and from an alcohol one). I do also enjoy a nice glass of red though

I like whisky from time to time, and I might take a nice bottle of tequila to a party to share with everyone, but other than that I don't touch the hard stuff. Sometimes when I'm in Barfalo I might pick up a good bottle of Absinthe, but that's usually for a special event and organization that I belong to holds from time to time. It's too easy to drink too much/too quickly and get messy.

Kessel for two 1sts and a 2nd was a terrible, horrible, awful trade.

Sadly, a portion of Leafs fans were never able to figure out that Kessel wasn't the one who made the trade.

- Atomic Wedgie

Burke didn't want to offend anyone by using an offer sheet. He should have. It would have cost less.

Burke's biggest mistake was looking at the team's assets and deciding to essentially overpay for Kessel considering he didn't want to stay in Boston.

In the winter?

Oh let me guess, you hit them from the upper deck at the golf dome so they actually get some air time
