Nah.

We've already got Greg McKegg in the lineup. (4 points in 3 games!!!???)

- BINGO!

I liked him in his stint with the Pens.

TVR would be a real good fit for the Penguins but honestly I don't know what the Pens have that would be fair value that Carolina would actually want.

We've got like 2 dozen 4th line NHLers.

So basically it only works if your GM decides he wants a draft pick?

Pretty much. And I'm not sure they'll do that. Probably going to try to keep him for if/when they're finally able to trade one of Hamilton or Faulk. (Preference would be Faulk)

Might trade TVR in the summer though.

I'm ok with that. We get to see Wilson back up on the 4th.

Maybe Wilson will finally get his first NHL goal.

Grove on the radio right now.... I didn't realize this, but the Pens didn't get a shot on goal on 4 PP's last night.

Both teams should have turned down the PP's last night. Only difference was MM made some big saves

It's probably going to unfairly take too much for me to come around on him, but I'll be happy to be wrong.

I don't think he excels in a 4th line role; he seems to go flat there, but shines next to Sid or Geno which is clearly no shocker. I've said this before, if a player can excel next to Sid or Geno I don't care if they fail everywhere else in the lineup because not every player can slot next to them and keep up.

Contrary to popular belief you can't just put any player with Sid and Geno, and make them good players. It takes a certain type of player who knows instinctively how to play with them.

However, the fact he's pretty mediocre in a bottom-six role and there's clearly better options in the top-six on this team I feel he has no real place. Again, I'd be happy to be wrong.

My opinion has nothing to do with his limited time with Sid or Geno....well, actually now that you mentioned it: "Contrary to popular belief you can't just put any player with Sid and Geno, and make them good players. It takes a certain type of player who knows instinctively how to play with them." is definitely a plus for him.

hahah thats crazy for a potent PP like theirs.

EDIT: crazy for any PP to go 4 without a shot, really.

Interesting bit on using Sid and Jake to kill powerplays

Nice read.

I don't care about the small sample size. I think their high scoring chance rate on PK would stay high, maybe not higher than 30% but then again, maybe. Without a doubt higher than the other combos. Two extremely talented 2 way cerebral players. Makes sense.
