Thanks. Would love to draft him for my keeper league but was looking for a little more than "hopeful."
Ek, any word/news (or just a gut feeling) re Sorokin???

The Isles need a #2 center, a scoring winger for barzal, a stay at home defenseman and a long term goalie...Unless the deal make sense and the team is not giving away the farm...Stay the course...
If they make the playoffs they win a series at best...Stay the course...The foundation and structure is being laid...Give LL and Trotz more time... |

What's the deal with Stone? Is he a FA in the summer? Any word what deal is he looking for? |

Can anyone weigh-in on the chances/likelihood Ilya Sorokin signs with the NYI next season of at all?
The Sarge - Sergeant32
The time for Sorokin to buyout his contract has passed and the only other way for him to join the Isles would be to be released by CSKA which, according to Igor Eronko, isn't going to happen.
I guess anything is possible but I wouldn't bet he'll be playing in NA next season. I can't remember who reported/tweeted it, but someone did say that (prior to the coaching/front office changes) Sorokin wanted to see a stronger management/coaching staff before he made the jump overseas, which is obviously a box that has been checked.
There seems to be some, cautious, optimism that he will eventually come over...but it seems to be murky, at best, as to the likelihood of that happening next season. |

UFA if he doesn't extend in OTT or get traded to somewhere that extends him.
A lot of money. He's already making $7.35M and he's probably a $9M-$10M player on the open market. |

Plays the D side as well, scary if on Barzal's wing.

Stay the course unless Lou is going after Tarasanko. I would only go after Duchene or Panarin in the summer. |

Surprised at these comments so far honestly. As a diehard Isles fan I'll say this: Panarin will be a Ranger or an Islander after this season with a long term contract. We will all cringe every time he touches the puck if he is a member of our cross town Rivals no??? Unfortunately JT sent the organization back ten years to put the team in this predicament. (Still has to be missing public information on that poopshow, I'm not buying his pjs story) Barzi can dangle and whoa a crowd, his transpired baseball skills are epic on top but he'll never be John. Fact, fact, and Matt no disrespect perhaps motivation to prove me wrong huh kid? Yout first hat trick better then any I've seen to date last year. Sooooo back on subject now Isles nation are you ready to hit Tavares with that warm welcome hes asked for 😉?? Glad the games been changed to the band aided Coliseum instead of the Brooklyn Sewer. Its basic to me Islanders need Panarin then we need to pry the Russian out of St Louis to lift the cup again. Give the whole entire farm to make that happen along with every dollar they both demand Lou. Pleaseeeeeee Lou Pleaseeeeeeeee. I haven't been happy since Ryan Smith. Go out and get Tarasenko before anyone he is truly the only guy that could replace JT. We fans only got lucky once in the past few years you all remember??? Yeahhhh point per game Vanek turned down 80 million with Tavares as a linemate to go where his wife made him go. I personally thank you Vanek oh and I get it i truly do. "The power of the P" is a remarkable phenomena for myself also. Playing footsie in Minnesota with a beautiful specimen is certainly worth that coin. Once again that predicament brings us to Dooouchee Shameee. That greedy Alpha in a Islanders sweater is conflict to Brock. They'll both be cheating ice time to one up the other. Barzal then suffers and wont be able to prove me wrong. Both our current Centers step aside for Panarin. PS Casey "I luuuuuuv you" so that covers that line too lol. So here is my bid. Send SheSung, poop Ass Bailey, Oliver Twist, Quenneville, and a future first rounder for Tarasenko and stud Dman Alex pa pa pa you know who. Then Dal Colddd, Clutter, a second rounder, 3rd round conditional, and Dobbson paired with Sodderstrom and Greiss forrrrrr Panarin, his agent being banned from the league, and the giant green giant himself BoBroooooooo knowing first and foremost they are all here to stay!!! Wheeeattttt dogggggg its Fun to dream like this outloud. If this was milllburrrrrrrry the islanders for years to come or the X blizzard as our GM the fanbase gets slapped with dumping Eberle losing almost every day. Praying Lou makes a splash. Again Pleaseeeeeeeee get a 91 back on the ice. I've been watching this team lose ever since Tucker took out Peca, then every year Afterrrrrr!!! |

1) Paragraphs are your friend. Use them.
2) Losing JT did not set the Islanders back a decade. Ease up on the hyperbole.
3) Tarasenko is a RW, JT is a C, and NO Tarasenko isn’t the ONLY forward capable of duplicating JT’s production. Hyperbole again.
4) I didn’t bother reading past your Tarasenko/JT comparison. If you’re wondering why, please refer to my first point. |

My guess is the Isles will extend Lee shortly... they will make an offer to Brock and Eberle that they feel is fair. If either are not signed by deadline I would be shocked if they are not dealt. I don't see them making a trade for any pending UFA's without an extension worked out beforehand (not again.. no thanks)....so not going to happen. They are doing very well with new defensive system in place and have slowly plugged in the talented youth into that system (Toews, Ho Sang, MDC, etc) when players got hurt. They are doing so well that we have a ton of players who are going to have tough time getting back on the ice when healthy (Hickey, Ladd, etc.). |

Douchene's value will never be higher than it is right now. In terms of output. The fact he's on expiring contract means you can lowball Ottawa a little, and their GM loves fixer uppers and magic beans for his best players. They(we, I live in OTT) desperately need a 1nd pic of some kind.
Also, Ottawa needs to get to the floor next year too. How much is left on DiPietro's contract?
Package that with some picks, some bust prospects that are languishing in the AHL....like a Nick Paul type character....and you'll get Douchene. He's looked pretty good this year, down low on the power play, can stick handle out of a phone booth. |

Duchene may be the most sought-after player, certainly one of them, at the trade deadline, so competition erases the myth that OTT will get a meager return because he's a UFA. His contract status is actually beneficial to a lot of contending teams that have tight cap situations and can't afford to fit his full-year cap hit under the ceiling.
DiPietro doesn't have a contract, his contract was bought out by the Islanders. It was during the compliance buyout period after the lockout, so that number doesn't count towards the Islanders' total cap hit. So it can't be traded and wouldn't help the Sens get to the floor even if it could be traded. |

If you DO go for Duchene. 2 things need to happen.
1. He comes in on a sign-and-trade
2. You do not lose Brock under any circumstances. Like him or not, he's been very good in his own end. |
