Will you be puffing your chest when you win bronze
- Pegullaville

No. We'll forget this ever happened...but if we it's silver or gold, I'm going to turn into a giant (frank)ing pigeon. Mad chirps.

Should we have just let him back here 2 years ago?

I understand he's not the fastest of skaters, but there is no denying his hockey IQ and his ability to score. Maybe he could of sparked Mittelstadt. He would be my trade deadline target tbh as he'll probably only cost a 5th rounder to acquire.

Yeah, that's what I am thinking. Would we have rather had him or Pouliot last year?

Not sure he's first priority TDL target, but for scoring depth why tf not. Good call.

Crazy that he’s played for 7 different teams since the trade out of buffalo

He had 57 points in 80 games last year. 15 points in 19 games on a playoff bound Columbus team. He has 16 points through 34 games this year but is playing in Detroit after all. I'd take that production over most of our bottom 9 this year.

100%

Remi Elie or Thomas Vanek?

Pretty simple. I'd wanna look and see if he's getting a lot of PP time, since he wouldn't here, but other than that, why not. We need another finisher it's very obvious and you're right, cheap to acquire.

He's a 4C that doesn't look totally out of place like Larsson or Girgensons would in a spot start up the lineup. And he's dirt cheap. That's a huge win any way you cut it.
- Wetbandit1

14 Career goals for erod is a "huge win"?

2 this season.

Borderline win, let alone huge win?

I thought there was a good chance we signed vanek- in the offseason.

He must have some baggage/ lockerroom/ teammate issues.

7 teams in 7 years?

In a league moving towards speed and youth, long term deals are tougher to come by for older players. The fact he keeps getting deals shows he’s still a good player. Lots of guys in their late 20’s have already been fazed out of the league.

His goals/divided by games played is better than your boy, but I know better than to argue with you on this point, because the goal posts will start moving very fast.

Sour grapes doesn't look very good on you by the way. When Larsson scores, I always compliment him. We should be happy when players like Rodrigues can step into a meaningful role when a player goes down, especially one of Eichel's importance

I believe Phil Espositio had 556 shots in the 1970-71 season.
- sabreadvocate1

Really? Wowza!
Tough to imagine that happening in today’s game
Ovechkin led the league last year with 355
I don’t think i could see Skinner getting over 300 with us though

Attainable. He's come close, 281, 277 the last 2 years only averaging about 17 minutes. He's on pace for about 250 this year, but I think as he gets more comfortable he can increase his volume.

Jack was at that pace the last 2 years.

Ovechkin, the biggest volume shooter there is has 3 400 shot seasons including one of 528, he also has seasons of 392, 386(78GP), 395(81GP), 398(79GP) and was on pace for 375 in 12-13. So he probably would've gotten another 2 400 shot years if he played all the games.

OV is an exception though
Skinner has never even broken 300 shots,
so I’d say that’s probably his ceiling
No way he ever gets near 500
And to get that many shots, probably means you’re taking a lot from the outside & farther away- so that shooting percentage is gonna drop a bit
OV averages 12.6% for his career,
and he probably has one of the best shots ever

I think Vanek is about done
But for a 5th... sure, why not?
He could at least be a net front presence on PP2 like Moulson was for us

I respect your opinion.

My boy pommer? The Sabres living legend
286 goals in 1023 games .279 goals a game

Erod
14 goals in 115 games

See the difference

Of course, one was a first liner in his prime, and the other is a 4th line utility man

Our best 2nd round pick ever perhaps

VS

Undrafted College FA

As you said before, don't argue. It's like arguing with a parking meter about the meter hikes...
