agreed, but don't change the rules when it comes over here
keep it consistent one way or the other
once they got in, they should have stayed in IMO instead of pick and choosing when to participate - homiedclown

Mikhail Sergachev is a very good D man for an up tempo team
Tyson Jost is already a decent 3rd line center - homiedclown

Tage Thompson has been our best forward analytically over the past 10 games. 55%CF and 55%SCF. Hes driving play and leading the team in scoring chances for. I think it’s time to get him some time with Jack. |

Nice to see the stats back it up.

Mittelstadt has taken a nose dive. He’s also currently in Housley’s dog house. I think playing with quality players will help him though figure it out. |

He's a 4C that doesn't look totally out of place like Larsson or Girgensons would in a spot start up the lineup. And he's dirt cheap. That's a huge win any way you cut it. - Wetbandit1
Agreed. He's a $650K undrafted FA. Also, he can play on any team's 4th line. To say he wouldn't make the lineup for a contending team is nonsense, especially at his pay rate. |

If Wilson didn't get hurt, he likely wouldn't have been in our opening night lineup. |

That's not because he's worse than Wilson though. Wilson's a vet, so he gets the time. |

ERod had a bad camp and a bad start to the season. He hasn't been at the top of his game this season.

No, he hasn't. I would guess having your first kid could throw a wrench or 47 into the works. Nevertheless, I'd still have him over Wilson. |

ERod is having a down year no doubt, he needs to produce more plain and simple if he is to remain.
I really liked his play lasg year, but this year he is a head scratcher compared to then.
I love Wilson, and I was his biggest defender last season when he was one of the few who played like a true NHLer, and man did I take alot of jive over it (that's right, you all spoke jive on my boy Wilson)...until posters here really watched him play and realized he is a solid lower tier player who plays the game right...now I see most have reverted back to their initial impression of him.
He too can slide up and down the lineup in emergency situations as needed, but his role should be that of a 4th liner. It has been 12 weeks or so since his injury, and should be back soon...unless something is wrong other than they will have some decisions to make upon his return. |

Glad to see three (3) Sabres prospects advance in the WJC for the Championship game.
I love the tourney but haven't watched nearly as much this year as I normally do.
I did see the last half of the Fin game last night ... Laaksonen looks so fluid out there, he is very fun to watch...here's hoping he continues to develop his game at yhe same rate as the last couple years...he could be a real boon the the Sabres D!!!
Luukonen looked very comfortable as well, he has made a big jump in his international play in this tourney.
Can't wait to watch them be tested by Team USA and Samuelson.
Future looking bright for the next wave of prospects coming, which should include Davidsson as well. |

It would be great if he produced more, and I believe he will, but I'm not going to complain about a guy who can fill many roles when needed for $750K who was an undrafted FA. |

Agreed. People's memory seems to be short around here. Erod was part of the 4th line with Girgs and Larsson that was absolutely LIGHTS OUT during the 10 game win streak.
Ideally, that's where he spends most of his time. |

It will change when the IIHF and/or the IOC pay the insurance costs like they did in Nagano, Salt Lake, Torino, Vancouver and Moscow. This was always about money. The IIHF came in and offered to pay them too late last year, after they realized the NHL wasn't bluffing. |

My memory sucks at times, lol...I don't hate on ERod, and his role is certainly that of a 4th liner.
In that role he brings good value, especially at his pay, but also with his speed. I like him and want him to succeed, and he isn't their biggest problem at all.
This year he has played a majority of his ice time split almost evenly on L4 and L3
His play with Larsson and Girgs is good, flipping the ice with very high D-zone starts.
I get ALL of that.
That said, with 40-50% ice time on L3 so far this year, he is part of the middle-six scoring woes.
And on a contending team, I'd like for 4th line players to produce something like 10-12-22.
At 2-9-11 his A's are there, but would like to see more G's produced.
Do I have a major problem, no. When this team improves overall should we expect better production, absolutely. |

Good point.
I like erod just like everyone else.
-college free agent that cost the Sabres 0 resources
-making only 625,000
-has good speed
-effort guy
-versatile
He needs to score when then his season pace of 4 goals.
Larsson has been more impressive and important to the point totals this season in my opinion.
More trade value as well
