Stupid penalty by Barrett.
Finns are a tough, plucky bunch. - RickJ
Yep, bad penalty. Can't remember if they scored on that PP, did they?.......... Yea man, Finland a population of 5-6 million beats a behemoth of 330 million. Gotta respect and admire them.

"Hawks give up 50 shots, lose again and still think they are a playoff team"
well of course they...
maybe just maybe the hawks will figure out the games actually start after puck drop in the first.
this team would have no chance with out their goalies doing headstands every game |

Stanbo better show up to the draft early if he wants big Kaakko. Point shot on the winner from Joki.
Finns used to just produce goalies and grinders. Now they are producing skilled kids who can really play.

Glad to see Brandon Manning settling down the Oilers defense. He is a minus 2 in 4 minutes of ice time so far |

Joki was outstanding - LAHawk
Can’t wait to get him back. BTW he says Kakko should be the first draft pick. |

It is risky. But for Stan to be able to play in free agency he needs to make moves to free up cap space so if he plans on moving players why not try and go after players you would target. Debrincant or saad are the only 2 players of real value that you can get a top 6 in return.
Ansimov is expendable .
Debrincant doesn't fit in on toews line . Kahun is their only due to the lack of talent this team has. Stone is a solid 2 way player who would hopefully work well with toews. That solidify his line. Then you target a top 6 lw to play with strome and Kane or trade for a young solid lw on a entry level contract - Taylorst1
WTF???
12-19-24 were great line to start the year out & should be back together
Saad has ZERO play making ability |

I think it all took a toll on them and especially for guys like #7 and #2 who continue to climb the all time games played list. Also Keith I think was really not the same since his knee problem and Seabrook I still think has a bad back since the St Louis series in 2016. Hjalmarsson has taken so much abuse between the shot blocks and going into the corners and getting hit. Oduya to me, seemed to just get old. - breadbag
I remember reading a quote somewhere from if the the writers/broadcasters saying something to the effect that Hjalmarsson “had bruises with colors that medicine and science couldn’t explain.” Absolutely the epitome of toughness!

Finland had a heck of a team and they worked hard to win it. Hats off to them. |

Been a lot of complaints about the officiating throughout the WC. - walleyeb1
Maybe the refs are the grandsons of the refs that robbed the 72 USA men’s basketball team of gold. |

I think so ,he is the consensus #1 for good reason . Kakko is a giant and made a good case for himself in this tourney . Fun games to watch, love that Tournament every year at this time .. |

Barrett man. The dude runs his mouth can score goals and will run dudes in the middle of the ice. Going to be a Dave Bolland type in two or three years.
And that's the time table boys and girls. 2-3 years. I think they should be planning for that rather then now. Since now is going to be pretty impossible. - fattybeef
Not even Vegas can predict whether Toewes will be still running as well by that time. Long in the tooth for Toewes perhaps. Definitely Keith and Seabrook will be gone. |

Ancient players
Quick off top of my head you have only a few top young Finnish players. Laine. Dahlin on Buffslo. Ehlers also on Jets. |

I just took a look at the standings. I was feeling pretty good about how the team has been playing lately, especially when they won 5 out of 6 but as things stand right now, they are tied with LA and AZ for the 4th worse point total of 37 and only two away from the league worst Senators who have 35. All three teams below them and the Yotes have played fewer games. A high draft pick is looking fairly likely at the moment. |
