Sikura is the latest highly touted Blackhawks prospect turn out to be a bust.
- DarthKane

Maybe if Stan has any plans to move 1 or 2 core players you might see a package of some of these hawks forward prospects . Just to balance out their contracts for the return.

Debrincant I has upside but his size is a concern and he scores in bunches then goes quiet.

There is now way Stan should trade Dcat. He isn't going anywhere

from todays lines. I like 9 guys for next year. and possible hayden and
sikura. basically the top 9 -AA and + Drake. On D I like Joki, Murph, Dalstrom.

this is thinking both Kieth and AA are traded.

I'm fine with Dlelia and Forsberg in goal. + Ian Mitcehll and a Froward from the top 5 of this draft. + 2 Free agents. with Gus and Seabs. Need 1 more Left D and and 1 more top 6 assuming the top 5 draft pick can end up somewhere in the top 6 or 9? is that enough to get us back into the playoffs?

would you bring back Gus on a reasonable deal? he seems to be getting better? I'm not a forsling Fan.

kampf and CAggulia are 4th liners. Perlini and Kahn maybe 3-4. we would be a little heavy on RD. assuming Seabs plays nightly.

please disregard the spellng

Isn’t Gus already signed to next year for about $1.2 mil? Even with all his faults that is a steal

So as I essentially posted earlier, you prefer guys who can fight to guys who can help a team win...noted.
- HawkintheD

I want some toughness, Probert and Domi besides being fighters actually could play and score. Probert had a avg of 20 goals a season and made the all star team. Domi had some decent stats.

But this team lacks a spark plug who can play but also to protect guys when need be.

Hayden is like a big teddy bear.

Jamal mayers was tough but played his role defensive bang shut down and was a vocal voice in the locker room.

That's great. Remind me again about all the Cups those guys won while Hawks.

Smith (Steve I assume), Manson and Graham were all guys I enjoyed watch playing. Also enjoyed Manson in some of his fights with various Blues and N Stars...but I'll take Ben Eager, his perceived lack of toughness and the first Cup win in 49 years, thanks.

- HawkintheD

Those guys where tough as nails. I remember those bench clearing brawls and center ice fights.

Yes Steve Smith although he did screw Calgary when he was playing their in their playoff run putting the puck in his own net.

Majority of shooters (goal scorers) are streaky, none streaker than Patrick Sharp

Probert didn't average 20 goals. It was 10. He did have 2 20 goals+ seasons and one at 19. He scored 160ish goals for a 16 year career.

And Domi had a 100ish in the same numbers of years.

Probert and Domi were still both effective players . Even Roenick was tough in a sense that he wasn't afraid to hit guys for his size. Eric lindros , Keith thachuk, were both the perfect example of empower forward.
I'm just saying it would be nice
to see Chicago get some grit and size but players who can actually do more than fight but contribute.

The hawks have a bad habit of not playing guys in their natural position . Instead of actually addressing their priorities and allowing players to play their natural position to better evaluate.

Like why is strome playing wing and anisomov playing center on that line strome has better face off percent .

Friggin mind boggling that Stan gives Kunitz a NMC in that deal. Guy is useless. Marty may not be much, but he is noticeable out there with the forecheck and hits.

For giggles, say DK does go to Toronto. Who would come back? Would love Kadri, but he is coming off of back/back 30 goal seasons.

- z1990z

Not sure if Toronto would trade him, but Gardiner would fit. He will take some of the money that Toronto needs for their big 3 forwards.

Annnnd, we have an explanation for Kunitz drawing back into the lineup

Charlie Roumeliotis
@CRoumeliotis

Chris Kunitz is being honored in Pittsburgh on Sunday for Penguins 10-year anniversary of 2009 Stanley Cup team. Classy move by #Blackhawks to get him back into lineup for that.

Well you have to admit the last 8 years has been horrible for Hawk fans, sure they won a couple of cups but they didn't fight. What is the good in winning championships when the team are to timid to stand up for themselves? Bunch of sissies!

Why would the rebuilding Blackhawks want a 28 year old defenseman who has no clue how to play defense?

I'm surprised you of all posters would suggest him, when it comes to physicality, Gardiner makes Schmaltz look tough.

For the same reason people want them to sign big name FAs. Everyone knows it is time to rebuild but few have the patience for it.

The reason I suggest him is because his contract is up at the end of the season, ie cost controlled. See, I do know something.......

I guess so.....unbelievable huh ?
Anybody who says Ben Eager wasn't a tough Blackhawk in 2010 has a different value on it. I guess everybody has their opinion and I'll respect that. Don't get me wrong, I loved Grimson and Peluso that one year.

Gardiner makes sense. He would create a competitive environment with Gus to see who can make the most turnovers in the Dzone per game.

You want toughness? Hjalmerson is tougher than all the ones you mentioned. He willingly stood in front of pucks many times a game, how many times did he leave the ice in obvious pain not missing a shift and then standing in front of more shots, he was willing to take huge hits to make plays and unlike the players you talk about he could play hockey at a high level.
- paulr

He was the personification of toughness.... I would take a team of these guys over a team of dB goons any day. Remember watching a replay many years ago of the Stanley Cup winning game against Philadelphia. 04 skated off the ice and sat down and immediately started shaking and flexing his head and neck because he was in such pain from the previous play. Look on his face was terrible.....and he was right back out in the next shift!
