I dunno. If they’re on the positive side of the high danger percentage over a 7 game series I feel fine about the Pens finishing their chances. I don’t expect them to completely suppress shots but if they can generate more than the other team I’m cool with it. - j.boyd919
To me much of that is too reliant on goaltending. The more frequent chances they’re facing the more likely that % will dip if goaltending takes a dip. |

Teams are killing it on the PP this year. The '17-18 pens at 26% had the highest PP% in a full season since '89-90 Flames (the '12-13 Caps were at 27% in the lockout shortened year).
Right now 5 teams are above 26%.The team coming in tonite is #2 on the man advantage at 28.1%. Hell even the Pens at #5 are chugging along at 27%. The numbers will come down eventually but goddamn, I remember the years when 21 or 22% would lead the league. |

Aren't they 8 of their last 10? Something like that. |

Pens are fine. A top 10 team with an outside shot at cup contention. |

I’ll take that without Jultz. |

Seriously this team needs to stay healthy, get back a healthy Schultz, and maybe add a rental for some extra pop for the 3rd line and they easily have a shot at taking down Tampa. |

I guess that’s a big question; what will Schultz look like when he comes back?
Have to expect quite a bit of rusty play in the beginning. |

He'll be rusty....certainly. Look at the bright side, he'll still be 20x better than JJ in his first game.
Just read that Sullivan says he'll be back on the ice soon. I think they expect him back in the lineup by mid Feb. Probably will need a month to build his leg back up. |

Sullivan needs to put his best players on the ice. If all the D are healthy, that doesn't include JJ. |

Need a better start tonight. A first like last game would be a different story against the Jets |

I agree... But... Im definitely not holding my breath on that one hahah. Could see him taking Rik or Pett out before JJ... |

I'd say that's a guarantee. The closer they get to crunch time and depending on their positioning you might see a healthy scratch. Like what CBJ did.
I wonder if the old man regrets those comments he made about why CBJ had benched him? |

Haha was thinking the same thing. I hate Torts but he was absolutely right when addressing Ruth's comments calling him a (frank)ing magician lol |

What gives me hope is Hunwick became a regular scratch. Pretty much the same situation......other than JR eating his foot. |

I've been so far removed from the world juniors, and especially since Canada got knocked out, this year I actually thought for a minute USA won the whole thing tonight hahah..I do however think they will win the whole thing and thought that before it started. |
