Yes.

The veteran gets the nod over Delia.

The Hawks lose every WC anyway so does it matter? Ha.

- Justin Lowe

"Clearly he’s had a great career and he’s an important part of our group," Colliton said. "His experience and veteran leadership and there was some talk about him addressing the team after the San Jose game, and I don’t think we should minimize that effect that he had on the group. Guys respect him and he’s played well for us. He’s played hard, he competes and I’m happy for him to get the opportunity."

So, obviously a nod to his long career and impact in the room rather than confidence in his ability to win.

Drake Caggiula is sorting out his U.S. visa. #Blackhawks are hoping it will be resolved by the end of the week.
- walleyeb1

He's a Canadian kid that signed with a Canadian team right out of college. He's never had to get a US work Visa... it'll just be paperwork and sounds like he'll be suiting up eright after the WC.

They are not going to move Nylander unless Nylander asks them to do it. One of the promises made during the negotiations was that Dubas would not trade Nylander as long as he was GM of the Maple Leafs. He publicly stated as much in interviews broadcast on national television. If he were to immediately go back on his word and trade Nylander, it would do irreparable damage to any contract negotiations moving forward with any players they want to sign or keep in Toronto.

Bad move HAWKS are not a charity . Play the guy who gives you the best chance to win every game. I guess we will just give everybody a Participant trophy . I freaking hate these garbage games .. Just get it over with ..

Without a proven number 1 defenseman, with their star players on the downsides of their careers, and with all their depth being prospects I figure the Hawks are 5 to 6 years away from contending, at best. The Hawks have to rebuild, they're not going to retool their way out especially with all the young star talent OTHER teams have that the Hawks dont.

- paulr

It’s gonna be Jokiharju. He’s 19, and probably the 2nd best defenseman now. If he continues his upward trajectory, he should be outstanding at 21, with a couple of full seasons under his belt.

Glenn Hall was the last goalie to play every game. Delia has been very good, but you don’t play a rookie in his 1st NHL season every game. He’s had three positive outcomes, let him take some time and build on those performances. You want him to be the #1 next year or the year after (depending on CC’s outcome). No need to force him into the #1 slot right now.

I don’t like the way Canada is playing, they’re trying to make the pretty play when they should be keeping their game more basic.

FWIW, the Hawks have the most prospects in the WJC with 8 if you include the concussed Nordgren. Two teams have 7 prospects and at least two teams have none.

Also, can't remember which news outlet it was (TSN, Hockey News, Sportsnet?) but one of them rated the Hawks prospect system around middle of the pack possibly even in the 11-15 range. They're trending in the right direction especially after the past two drafts.

Other teams may have some blue chippers but the Hawks have some pretty good ones coming up the ranks as well. Yes, could be better but still sufficient to have some excitement for the future.

Happy New Year to all! We're all Hawks fans here most of all anyway except for the trolls. As a 2019 resolution, lets keep the personal attacks out of our posts. It's great to have dissimilar opinions being discussed. Let's leave it at that.

Signing off for thr remainder of 2018. Go Hawks. Lets get the ship righted ASAP.

If Stan could trade Seabrook, but had to give up a first round pick to do it, would you? I think I would if the pick was top 10 protected this year. I think with Seabrook's money, the Hawks could make a run at Karlsson. Combine that with a high draft pick this year, and maybe a top 6 FA signing, and we're back in contention next year. Then the 2020 pick that we don't have is a late pick.

Absolutely no to Karlsson. He is no better then Seabs in his own end. And what has he brought to SJ?

Must agree. How does it benefit the Hawks moving forward for Ward to play instead of giving Delia experience (whether positive or negative, nonetheless "big game" experience.)_
