And let's hope the Hawks send Forsling back to the AHL...
...he is not an NHL caliber defenseman at this point in time. |

Nope. I think he's out when Henri comes back. Would love another guy to step up so they can move Seabrook to the press box. |

Murphy with 3 hits, 6 blocks, +1, 1 shot, one cross bar and was superior on the 5/3 PK. Kudos to that kid for stepping up. He and Dahlstrom have been wonderful surprises this year and I believe are HUGE reasons why the Hawks have played better lately. |

And what about the terrific saves Ward made that maybe Delia wouldn’t have?
Ward was good enough - the special teams weren’t. Success rate of 1 for 9 on both. - StLBravesFan
He was good, i don't know if it's sustainable for Delia but he has been the better goalie. Isn't the point of competition to play your best players and win? To me the Hawks today did not play their best players or appropriate time amounts, they played their veterans and they played a lot of minutes. #7 is done and it doesn't surprise me 2 out 3 goals against he was on the ice.

Perlini scores a goal and gets FOUR shots on goal (only Kane had more) and is rewarded with 7 minutes of ice time. No excuses for that. Yea he can get frantic at times, but his speed was really pushing the Bruins Defense.
Was Q 'the coach who hates young guys' on the bench today? Meet the New boss. Same as the old boss. |

Forsling looks confused right now. Give him time he needs some more seasoning in the AHL

He will be heading back to Rockford when Henri is done in the Juniors tournament. His play is very poor. Seabrook is too, but Hawks are going to have to carry that dead weight around for now. |

That pairing along with the Schmaltz trade for Strome and Perlini really turned around the season; went from extremely terrible to mostly playing pretty well for a few weeks. |

Good to see the Hawks get back on track this afternoon. What a brutal showing.
The dogcrap special teams continue their run of excellence. 2 against and what o for 3 on the PP that is when the Hawks weren't committing penalties with with the man advantage.
The breakouts in general were just awful - especially at the end of the one Bruins PP where even after it was over the Hawks just refused to clear the puck...if only our GM had brought in some UFA dmen. Which brings us to Brandon Manning...another trainwreck signing by Bowman - oh sure like Panik and others before Bowman found a taker - but the bigger point is why was he signed in the first place? Because the GM is clueless. As Jason mentioned at the top several decent UFA dmen were available, but we all know Manning was a bad signing from the outset and Stan is gonna lay that on Q you know like the qualifiers on Dale.
Bowman knew going into last offseason this defense was a trainwreck yet he brought everyone back - like Rutta who's at the Rock and Gus - who depending who you talk to on the Hawks staff is the second coming of Bobby Orr. Meanwhile Seabs and his albatross deal aren't going anywhere.

Yeah, probably something like:
Keith - Jokiharju
Dalstrom - Murphy
Gustafsson - Seabrook |

I really don't want Gus with Seabrook. Gus needs to play 22-24 minutes a night. I actually like Gus with Keith. The problem is Seabrook is washed up and whoever plays with him is pretty much screwed.
It's time to make a hard, maybe unpopular decision to take #7 off the ice. Sports is a business, you're there to win, loyalty can only go so far. The decision needs to be made, but I have zero confidence that JC will send Seabrook to the press box. |

Realistically, the Hawks deserved a better result today. They were the better team overall. Boston got a heck of a lot of favorable no-calls and the Hawks were doing well 5 on 5. Unfortunately special teams weren't at their best today, because this is a game they outplayed their opponent |

The problem with that pairings is that Gus looked much better overall with Keith, not a liability defensively at all and more confident in attack. It worries me that with Seabs he will revert back to being a hit-and-miss player and frustrating to watch. However, can Joker play on the left and survive alongside Seabs? If not, they should stuck with Forsling and Seabrook together and Joki can go to Rock. |

So you have a goalie whos 3-0 with a .957 save% this season, looks great, and you start Ward because he's a veteran he gets the start? |

Yep. and it's also why Seabrook will play every game this year. Colliton doesn't have the stones to make hard calls, he's just so young. Ill gladly eat crow, but Not holding my breath. His ice time distribution is also mind boggling.
I guess the Hawks are playing better can be levied at the new coach, but I rather say its because instead of clods like Manning and Davisons on the ice, we now have Murphy and Dahlstrom, guys who seem to have a clue. |

Even after they killed the penalties in the 3rd, they never regrouped properly, didn't gain any momentum unfortunately. It is funny though, I too felt like they deserved better, but besides Ward making some real good saves and a few players looking sharp, there were too many ordinary performances, too many giveaways, too many shifts with little structure. Still, the game was there for the taking, especially during the 2nd. That Kämpf/Bergeron sequence was a dagger. You lose some and win some, I suppose. |

If they want to see what happens to an org when the front office pulls this kind of poop, all they need to do is look at the Chicago Bulls. They are having a lot of trouble selling tickets now. Let the kid coach and stay out of his way, he might surprise you, i already like how his system pressures the puck...

Glad this game is out of the way, wouldn't be surprised the minutes were dictated by the FO. Now we can see less of Ward and Seabrook - BetweenTheDots
And...the movement on Anisimov, Kruger, and KEITH. It's time for Bowman to execute a solid rebuild. I'm giving him Cudos for the Schmaltz trade, even though I had my doubts. Strome and Perlini are good additions for next year's comeback team. Let's go Stan, do it right. |

We'll see, but there is absolutely no reason Brent Seabrook should be playing NHL hockey at this point. If he was a 24 year old rookie he'd either be waved or sent to the minors. I understand it hurts, it's not a popular decision to simply get rid of a player who has meant so much to a team, but it's 20/20 that he is finished and if the Hawks truly are serious about turning the page toward a future that's brighter, #7 has to go.
Kruger and Anisimov are two others that are expendable.
Only reason I'd trade Keith is to gain top prospect/picks, otherwise, he's still servicable. |

Saad AA Forsling all can be traded as soon as possible imo. Saad looks slow and doesn't have that bulldog mentality of 4 years ago. AA is what he is shows up and plays when he wants to forsling is a 6th 7th or depth d man so thats all from me. |
