I think he's making moves for the sake of making moves. I don't think any GM should move RNH, but im getting the sense he's trying to save his job. And when a GM gets super desperate, I think he's willing to move any piece (especially those he didn't acquire - so I feel someone like Spooner is off the board). No playoffs and he's probably outta edmonton this year. 5 straight losses have pretty much nullified any attention given to the coaching. Its all on him at this point. There really isn't anytime for him to wait to offseason to shake up the team.
Swinging a deal with a desperate GM might be worth it. Oleksiak, Maatta or someone in the bottom six is probably on the table. Might as well pick up the phone.

Reports are that he tried to move Spooner in Sunday lol but the teams said no because he sucks too lol

I didn’t say low but he’s not the same type of player as Sid and Tavares. More like Ovi.

The problem with our defense corp is that if Oleksiak was our worst defensemen (which he should and could have been before bad signings) then our defense would be solid, but he's not. JJ and Rikolla both suck more than Oleksiak and when you have 3 players on that level of suck... and 2 of them were added by choice, you're gonna have a bad time.

Well... you view Oleksiak as a #6. I do not. I view him as a tweener 4/5. Petterson, is showing that he could be a solid #4 as well, but I'll be fair and keep him as a tweener for now.

So... to piggyback off of a post on the last page... Letang is a #1... Dumo, Schultz... they are #3s. Maatta is not a #3 unless he returns to that rookie form. I view Maatta with Petterson and Oleksiak as the tweener 4/5.

In my opinion... we have a #1, two #3s, and three tweener #4/5s... WHEN healthy.

By that, our D will be fine with Schultz back... but for now Johnson and rookula are not top 6 Dman. Riikula may become one in a year or so, good for him. Just not now.
