The guys that matter for this team have zero playoff experience

Eichel
Skinner
Reinhart
Risto
Dahlin
McCabe
Bogo

ZERO playoff games played

- Stripes77

And odds are they should be getting some valuable experience this year. But im not going to say this season was a failure if we pick twice in the top 15 and get skinner signed long term.

Heiskanen and Dallas also says hello. I bet the list of top 15 picks who had success in the NHL is a lot longer then the list of picks 20 and over that did. Unless you include all the Euros selected prior to 2000 that would of went top 5 today if scouting today was the same as it was back then.

You’re on an island here dude
I’m 99.9% sure that everyone (incl scouts) in the Sabres organization should choose to make the playoffs this year & pick 20th instead of miss & pick 14th

Skinner - Eichel - Smith
Nylander - Sam - Mittelstadt
Sheary - Sobotka - Rodrigues
Gus - Larry - Okposo

But of course we’re just gonna sit here and not do anything

- gerbe75pts

I would flip Smith and Nylander.

You’re the only one who keeps talking about this season being a “failure”

Not one person besides you has mentioned anything like that

Just that it would be better to make the playoffs than to miss

This team should make the playoffs. They have quite a cushion on the Isles. But this season is still a success in my eyes even if we don't make it. Thats all im saying. This team finished 31st last year remember that.

Agree, but again...
no one but you has mentioned the success/failure of this season being based on us making the playoffs or not

Either way, we are moving in the right direction
It’s better for us to make it!

You could be right, you could be wrong. If we win two more games we have Dylan Strome instead of Jack Eichel. If we lose two more games we could of had Clayton Keller instead of Alex Nylander. If we lose 5 more games maybe we draft Pettersson 5th overall or maybe Botts goes with Mittelstadt still. At the end of the day it depends on the ability of the scouting staff, but these guys have given me reasons to believe the past few years. The higher you draft, the better the chance you get of getting your guy.
- Pegullaville

I'm not sure if it's a positive to miss the playoffs.

Maybe before the season, now it would be more disappointing.

I agree to some degree.
How is it not successful if we put up 25 -30 more points then last year?

Progress

Jbotts mentioned about getting in, then eventually you break thru.

This argument is moot. In 5 years will know whether or not was better. Maybe the team that falls outside the playoffs this year wins one of the lotteries and ends up with a stud. On page 2 we were talking about playoff experience. Playoff experience is important but realistically hot goaltending and talent wins cups. I just think having experience is a tad overrated. But yea if we get ousted in the first round and we could have rebuilt one more year and got one more stud that puts us over the top then was it really worth it ?

We’ve all had our own at times

Fitz Island would be fun though
Just no LongIsland Iced teas allowed 😂
Whiskey & Tequila served in 1oz portions
And ROR could borrow Bogo’s Dj equipment
😁😁😁

I’ll take the 100% certainty of experience for the young core over the 1% chance we’d win the lotto

I'll take surrounding Jack with top talent so he isn't sitting around like Marleau and Thornton with playoff experience and no cups.

Ironically enough Marleau is hinging his cup dreams on a team built up of high draft picks.

Thornton and Marleau were surrounded with top talent and still couldn't win

That argument doesn't hold water with what you are attempting to prove

Because SINCE THEN I have done nothing but say what a disappointment he has been, yet you cling to one take from a 10 game sample.

As well as this whole GMTM got a raw deal thing, I have stated numerous times since then that he was a moron who destroyed our farm system.

See that's what happens when you aren't a self-righteous wiener, you can change your opinion if someone presents a counter-argument that shows just how wrong you were.

Instead, you keep jacking off over ROR endlessly every single day and despite DOZENS of posters on here providing NUMEROUS examples of the rift between ECHL and Cryin' Ryan you STILL won't shut the hell up about it, you start arguments for the sake of it, and seeing your avatar makes everyone's heart sink and brain hurt.

Not to mention the moronic grammar and formatting of all your posts. You are the king troll of this blog, dude, I couldn't even begin to hold a flame to your candle.
