Schmaltz may have done some things that drove a lot of us crazy but it doesn't negate the fact that he was a decent pickup toward the end of the first round. For whatever Bowman's faults, he and his staff have had a pretty solid record with first round picks in the middle to end of the first round.

While most of them aren't with the Hawks anymore, only MacNeil can be labelled a bust.

Bring Fernando Pisani out of retirement. His final season was when he played for the Hawks actually.

Yeah, that one hurt...but it was fun getting some redemption a couple weeks ago putting the nail into the coffin of GB's playoff aspirations. Same thing with MN today.
