It might be a bit early to say that. Maybe Delia and Ward start splitting the time more equally but I don't think JC hands over the reigns to the youngster jut yet. If Delia starts the Winter Classic (which I believe is unlikely) that will be very telling of JC's intentions. - DarthKane
Agreed. I'm going to the WC and am certain it will be Ward. Is this our first WC without Crow in net btw? |

My guess is we'll see
Toews + Saad
Kruger + AA
Kampf + (Hayden/Kunitz/filler depending on who is rotating in and out of the lineup) - breadbag
That is the most likely scenario for PK forwards.
I don't mind Anisimov on the PK but would think Perlini is an upgrade with his speed. Perlini and Anisimov both have size and 2-way play so the speed would give Perlini the edge although Anisimov has more experience.
Then Sikura may be an upgrade over whoever pairs up with Kampf given 95's tenacity on the puck, speed, and sound defense. I could see Perlini and Sikura having SH scoring opportunities similar to Saad. Maybe not as many as Saad but the potential to force turnovers and skate the puck deep the other way to at least eat minutes off the clock. |

With a young team it's consistency they are going to have to work on, but i have to admit the needle is pointing up for this. Maybe not this year but this rebuild might not be as painful as i first thought - BetweenTheDots
Definitely agree. |

I think it depends on how Delia plays the second time around against Colorado. If he shuts them down again then I think there's a very good chance Delia will get that start, but I wouldn't be shocked if JC, to keep things even and not to overwhelm the young goalie, starts Cam in net for the Classic. Especially since he started the last two. Ya never know they. If he plays very well again tomorrow they might wanna ride the hot hand out. |

According to JC it's an open competition, i believe if Delia has another great game vs Avs, he starts the WC.

You are correct sir. Hawks also 0-3 in WC games womp womp womp. Not relying on speed/passing this time around as much as the last 3 outdoor games. |

Definitely nice to have the speed to force the opposing team to be careful and keep them honest. |

Unless he has outwardly stated he doesn't care who starts and is treating the Winter Classic as just another game, then I would give Ward the net in deference to a veteran who has never played in the game. I know outdoor games are not novel for the core but I imagine it still means something to the new veterans and youngsters.
The Hawks play in an outdoor game every other year it seems so Delia should get his chance down the line. Even if Delia is the hot hand going in, it would be respectful to Ward to give him the start. |

Still can't believe some are still talking about trading Gus. We finally have someone to play the point on the PP, but, no, trade him away. $1.2M on a 2 yr deal but, no, we don't need him.
Not good enough -so you really want Keith back on the PP? - 67hawks

With any luck - given the relative lack of interest in the game (two not very exciting teams - one of them 1,000 miles from home - why didn't they pick Detroit-Chicago for the game - two teams reasonably close to South Bend) - this will be the last time for a while that the Blackhawks partake in the bowl game. |

WOAH - I guess we (or at least Keith/Seabrook and Kane/Toews) should be glad we're not Dallas

Strong words coming from the Stars' upper brass. This is what happens when you overpay your "stars". It does not look good when your lesser-paids begin outplaying them. There is probably a lot of talk like this going on except it does not hit the media. Is it going to smarten up NHL GM's? Probably not, but it will probably get some fired. |

We'll take Seguin and Benn off their hands. Don't think we could get either but for sh!ts and giggles, what would it take to get Seguin or Benn? |

This gave me the biggest laugh I've had in a while. It's one thing to do that in the locker room. It's a whole other level in the press. |

I think the question here is if the Wild think they can actually make a run at a playoff spot. I've read that they are very high on Greenway, so I wouldn't think they would part with him unless they thought Forsling was the bees knees. - Chunk
Not Forsling for Greenway, Gustafsson for Greenway. And yes I agree I doubt MN would take that deal but you never know. ......... Think MN has made the playoffs 7 yrs in a row.

Forsling sikrua for greenway your not getting anything for gustafsson yet he has improved slightly in his own zone but still a 3rd pairing d man or depth d on a contender who works well on the pp. Hawks have enough small forwards need some size on the wings minn needs young d and skill and speed up front. Doubt it happens but something to think about. |

If only it was the NFL or MLB and he didn’t have to play defensive. He’s still a hot mess in his D zone. - scottak
I think it is maybe more accurate to call him a warm mess ... he is getting better.
Plus his offense isn't always that hot either - like no look passes where everyone on the ice knows he is doing a headfake and ends up making a tape to tape pass to an opposing player ( mind you ... I can certainly empathize with that :D ...er, don't ask)... |

Not sure of all the players involved, but i think we would have to retain 75% of sh!ts and 80% of giggles. |

So if Stan throws in a No Movement Clause, does that mean constipation? Might be time for Rocky to invest in some prune juice and Metamucil as part of the Wirtz beverage empire. |
