Yeah I thought they said that during the telecast. Man, I have to say fail on the NHL Network. the announcers were getting on my last nerve on the USA telecast. they talked about everything but the actual game. When you can't see the numbers of the jerseys it would be cool to have the play by play guy actually let you know what is going on. then the telecast kept cutting out for the first 10 mins of the second period. And then of course they waited 30 mins before cutting to the Canada/Denmark game making us watch a post game AND going back to the studio.

Bob Rotruck (great twitter follow, btw, if you are interested in the Phantoms) is reporting that Terry Murray has been brought back into the fold as an assistant with the Phantoms:

Frankly, I'll never understand why Hextall spurned Murray when he seemed to want the assistant's job under Hakstol.

The announcers mentioned they had gotten a tweet asking them to shut up and just call the game.

This game tonight will be a test to see if they can muster a run fr the playoffs.
A win could give them confidence they need.
They know they can play with them already, time to put together a solid 60 min performance and win this one for the Gipper!

Initially credited with a secondary assist but the scoring was subsequently changed.

14-0 is a lopsided football game. It's only a hockey score if the 2 teams have no business being on the ice at the same time. I'm sure there were games in the past the Danes looked like they belonged, yesterday wasn't one of them.

I never understood that either. If you are going to hire a head coach with no pro experience whatsoever, why not have an assistant with long term NHL experience, including that of head coach?

I don't know what happened with that situation but Murray is an excellent coach to have as an assistant. He has a track record of getting players to play the right way. Excellent development coach.

Well if you choose to believe the reports that Hextall was micromanaging and a control freak, then it is possible that he specifically put a coaching staff together that he would "own"...

*Hakstol had no NHL experience even as an assistant, so he had little to no leverage to be able to get fed up and quit if he wanted to stay in the NHL if Hextall didn't take any pushback.
*Knoblauch was a Hextall hire, also Knoblauch's first pro league job.
*Murphy was Hextall's mole feeding Hextall day to day info on players and coaches according to SanFilippo

They take 10 teams for the tournament. So Canada got one of the teams that is #9 or 10. Guess what Kazakhstan will probably get rolled like that also during this tournament. I'm not going to say they don't belong because of one game.

Also every year the worst team gets relegated and the best team of the next lower tournament gets elevated. Maybe this year it's Denmark's team that gets relegated.
