ROR wasn't brought here to lose. We were supposed to be done losing. The problem was that the GM spent all of his assets to acquire the players he wanted, had no idea how to build a competent, modern D corps, overspent on a bad goalie, didn't bother with the bottom-6, left the pipeline in shambles, and to top it all off, mis-timed his trades by a year or two. ROR was a symptom of the problem, not the cause.

IMHO, of course

He did give entertaining interviews though. The only thing I miss.

I'd bet the egos involved in pro hockey are different than your corporate structure. Not to mention the party culture
- jcragcrumple

People have engaging personalities at all ages, though. O'Reilly doesn't strike me as a player that has one.

He & Jack denied it
I don’t think they’re liars
Ppl fight on losing teams
Pretty obvious that it got blown outta proportion

Jack even said they started F-ing with the media on purpose once they heard the rumors
No way he just makes up that story

- jdfitz77

Jack was just trying to take the easy way out ROR was the problem and that’s all I’m saying 😓..

And Jack took a jab at Ryan O’Reilly about losing love for the game about two months ago

Good post

But I'm not sure ror wasn't - the problem

He was more of a problem then a factor....

I'm not arguing for him here, per se. The team was built on a shaky foundation. I don't blame him. I still think he's a good hockey player, but the timing and execution of his entry to the team, combined with the contract expectations
and the general skill level of those teams created a perfect poop storm. Now he's gone, so it really doesn't matter.

What would impress me more than him scoring tomorrow is if he locks down the Eichel line

I’d imagine that’s how they will do it though, wonder if Housley avoids it or Jack wants to

Good luck with that ror.

It would be pretty funny. I think it's a strong possibility. Last change for st louis at home.

I noticed ek9 has basically done 0 this year . 10/10

He played the jets last week

1 goal 1 assist 10 shots on net.

Ror had a great game vs. Colorado last year at home.

I expect maximum effort, minimum front teeth

WOW
You’ve made some bad posts before...
But this is something

Sabres are better this year because of...
-Skinner/Eichel going bananas
-Dahlin steadying the defense, incl Bogo, and Risto
-GOALTENDING

Not bc a really good player is on another team
Bc what we got back for him, has hardly helped at all

What a dumb argument that is
Just brutal dude

And AGAIN...
YOU that brought up ROR, not me

- jdfitz77

"There are kind of like rumors out there that me and him had problems which are kind of like ridiculous," Eichel said. "It's kind of crazy because we were actually really tight and he was one of my best buddies and I just kind of wanted to put those to rest."

Eichel went on to explain how the situation was overblown and how the rumors started when O'Reilly didn't fist-bump him after scoring a goal. According to Eichel, the two had heard the rumblings and intentionally had some fun with the rumors by intentionally ignoring each other after the team had scored a goal.

"He scored a goal last year and I went over to give him knucks and he kind of breezed me as a joke and the Buffalo media ran with it," Eichel added. "Me and him were dying laughing so we started thinking every time one of us scores [we'll] breeze the other guy and everyone will think we don't like each other. So we were messing around with it obviously."
