Why are they not in a position to be buyers?
- sabresfan69

1. don't want to trade first rd picks
2. still too many bad contracts on this roster
3. skinner situation determines next move
4. already used a few picks for wilson, skinner, shearry, etc
5. only nhl players really worth anything on the trade block is risto, skunk or mccabe and I can't see moving risto and I can't see moving skunk
6. not many blue chip prospects to trade as casey and dahlin are not going anywhere and tim murray could not get anything out of his million second rd picks

1. I strongly disagree

Smith, Nylander, Olofsson and Asplund would do better then Elie, Okposo, E-Rod and the Pod Racer

Smith-Eichel-Thompson
Skinner-Casey-Skunk
Olofsson-Asplund-Nylander
Sheary-Lockport Larry-Dirty Pod Racer

shake it up

I totally agree they would be better ( it’s not hard to better nothing) but I don’t believe for a second they make enough of a difference this year, what they would add in goals, they would give up on the defensive side.

If they did this they would totally gut Rochester, never going to happen.we all know this, botts has been very clear about changing culture in Rochester as well as buffalo.

4 1sts say otherwise. Also you can get a 3rd line center for a second.

These reasons are just noise. You can trade for a young center like Nelson without taking on huge salary or trading away many assets. Probably something like Guhle and a 2nd would do it.

I think the best we can hope for is one call up and a minor trade of some sort, other wise botts is going to let them sink or swin until he can rework lines 2 and 3 more to his plan.

It’s very evident he knows there is a lot of work to do in the middle 6 and he can’t fix it all now and keep his 1st round picks. He’s already said what it would take to move those and we aren’t getting that kind of player in a trade imho.

The problem is if Buffalo wants to be competitive the have to make a trade. There is no 2nd/3rd line center on the roster and even if/when Mittelstadt matures we don't have a 3rd line center and no, one does not exist in Rochester.

They think very highly of aspland and Malone. And they will draft a center with one of those first round picks, we don’t have to make a trade. Casey will be a #2 center...just not this year..one if the guys above will be the 3rd line center in the future.

I'm still thinking Anisimov. 2020 second, Guhle and Sobotka. Combine that with 2 call-ups and getting rid of Elie and this team looks much better imo

Its very frustrating the Botts and Housley refuse to bring up Nylander, Olofsson or Smith.

Also Botts turning into Regier 2.0

Jesus Christ, comparing Botterill to Darcy because he won't make a call up? Your knowledge is overwhelming.

Dude, why do you come here with your hate? Isn't there enough hate in the world already that you don't have to bring your hate to hockeybuzz?

You sound like a self hating loathing slob and I feel sorry for your wife.

Nope that's you, running off at the mouth and comparing Botterill to Darcy is a joke, just like you a joke. The hate is coming from you.
