He's got some merit to his points.
The 4th line is playing well defensively with 75% of starts in the D-zone...yet they are able yo consistently flip the ice ... which is one of the points the article in the Athletic made about ROR. That aspect of ROR's game has replaced.
The Sabres are in fact, as we all know are lacking in a reliably scoring 2C. Mitt's D game has been his focus and it is generally working. It would be nice to see him scoring and creating opportunities for his linemates to cash in though.

I am happy for ROR that he is playing well, good on him.
I also think it is kore of a coincidence that 3 teams he has played for each end up being a complete disaster with strife between players...rumblings of discontent. Also the coincidence that 2 former teams both see their teams play well and both have a lighter locker room atmosphere.

Meh. It is what is.
I am happy with the post ROR Sabres so far.

Which a few of us said it would be.

The secondary scoring is an issue, but was still an issue last year.

And if Mitts even gets marginally better there is not a loss

I guess it is unacceptable to offer another perspective...in a respective fashion no less?
- IonSabres

Of course. How many times does he have to tell you before you get it?

The 4th lines of old (goon lines) have been replaced by strong d zone players. Who can grind it out and shut down other teams offense.

We need more offense from lines 2 and 3 especially 5 on 5 but like you said that’s nothing new from last year.

Our defensemen are producing offensively unlike last year but the secondary forward scoring is still lacking.

Cut some fat and get some scoring depth and this will be a dangerous Sabres team.

Mittelstadt has 10 points in 37 games of his first full professional season with minimal PP time.

Reinhart had 11 points in first 38 games last year in his third professional season.

Mittelstadt will be just fine. He could use better wingers also. Okposo is brutal.

Guys it’s almost a new year we should be spreading positive energy not this black cloud of negative

Sure the Sabres need some help but for the first time in what 6 years ? We’re not out of the playoffs by December

I really really dont like hating on him.

With that said however,

I CANNOT watch him skate to the half boards and spin and pass back to the point anymore, he is just not fast enough.

He is great on the puck, has a good shot and vision it just seems like he is 1-2 feet from making a play because he just isnt quick enough

he got the same problem as SAM had, he's not strong enough yet, in collage he had 150-200 lb guys trying to check him, in the NHL he has 200-230lb guys checking him.... He's not slow, he not Eichel either (few are) he needs another year to build up that core strength... (which in turn will help the quickness) when he gets that done I think we all see a different player on the ice.

How can anyone argue the results anymore?

The fact that we added Skinner because of moving O’Reilly’s deal makes it a giant win if Skinner re-signs

For the first time in like 6 years we weren't out of the playoffs by the end of October.

This season has been fun. There are times where you can see that they still have a lot of work to do, but damn are the games at least fun most of the time these days.

Honestly, at this point, I don't care about who was at fault last year and all that. It's in the past, we can't change it, and it doesn't matter now. Fasten your seat belt and enjoy the ride!!

Most of the speed you see in the game these days isn't entirely foot speed. It's the speed of reactions overall. It's very much about driving the play instead of reacting to it. He's still trying to get that aspect of the NHL game down. It'll get there. You see flashes of it. The problem is that you can see the wheels turning in his head more than it just being a reaction. That extra 1/2 second makes a difference. He'll get there.

I would have preferred Casey play on the wing, for his first season then move him to center in year 2

with our centers, no chance that was going to happen
