I didn't watch the 3rd cause the game was such a snoozer. Just saying, i doubt the difference between 8/14 goals will do anything for the tournament standings.

If your top three teams go 3-1 in the first round and we beat team B , and team B beats team C and team C beats us it comes down to goals. Suck it up.

In an extremely unlikely scenario yes it could matter for seeding. Idgaf about whether we are 1 2 or 3 seed if we're the best team we'll win the tourney, if we're not we won't.

They passed the puck around the outside, most of 3rd and flipped the puck at net several times, several accidental goals. I would say they did take it easy, should have scored 30.

Comtois reaction after his backhand goal looking as if "(frank), that wasn't supposed to go in"

I don't remember a 14-0 game in recent years but regardless of that, i don't care what other teams do. Canadians are supposed to hold themselves to a high standard, this was some poor sportsmanship imo.

Coaches easily could have told them up 8-0 after 2, take your foot off the gas we don't need any more goals

- NorthNuck

Then that coach should not be coaching ....this isn’t game 23 of 82....this is a short tournament where goal difference matters ....there will be a team that is affected by goal differential in this tournament ...you’ll see

I reiterate, being able to pile up on a weak team proves nothing, if you're good enough you'll go through regardless if you play the americans or the czechs or whoever.

It is not unlikely . It in fact is very likely. In international hockey you never let your foot off the gas.

In 2006 Slovakia beat Bulgaria 82-0 in women's play

Most Goals, One Team, One Game (Modern Era)
31 – USA, vs. Italy, 31-1, 1948
23 – USA, vs. Poland, 23-4, 1948
23 – Sweden, vs. Italy, 23-0, 1948
23 – Canada, vs. Austria, 23-0, 1956

And how often did it matter that those teams scored X number of goals?

Is this your first world juniors ? Lol
Seriously I don’t get why you would question scoring goals when it helps your chances of placing higher if tied

This is common sense lol

You need to learn how internation tounaments work . It is very common for Swedes or Russians to win 16 -0

I guess i don't see the Swiss or the Czechs outdoing Canada in the round robin. We will be seed 1 or 2 based entirely on who wins between us and russia, barring an incredible game from the czechs

He's not.

He is maybe a Patrick Kane.

Here's the difference
Crosby totals 897gp 427g 730a 1157pts 2 Stanley cups
Kane totals 860gp 329g 543a 872pts 3 Stanley cups
McDavid totals 244gp 106g 202a 308pts
0 Stanley cups
There's a clear difference just in points between special players and very good players.

Dude, when he was 16 he crushed Mathews PPG 17year old. point and goal records.
He's not a late birthday, and he's head and shoulders better then anyone else in his immediate age group.
Hughes will be better then kane, plays center not the wing.
Kane will retire with the most cups out of the three comparables that you used. I will take that everyday of the week and twice on sundays.

For you fancy stat readers. This one does give Kakko a shout out.

2017 Canada 10-2
2016 USA 10-1
2014 Russia 11-0 Sweden 10-0
2012 Russia 14-0 Finland 10-1
2011 Canada 10-1
2010 Canada 16-0 USA 12-1 Sweden 10-1 Finland 10-1
2009 Canada 15-0 USA 12-0 Czech 10-2 Sweden 10-1
2008 Sweden 10-1

There ya go. All double digit goal games since 2008. There is once in a while a team like Denmark that just isn't good.

Northnuck needs to just forget about what happened and move on.

I can't believe you because you don't even know how many cups Crosby has.

Boucher beat Stamkos OHL season record for goals in a year. I'll let you figure out who has more NHL goals.
