I think he needs a few games off to reset and refocus. Playing him 25+ minutes while he's clearly not all there is just torture and perpetuating the problem. He may be their best defenseman but right now he's probably their worst. It's time for a reset.

Provy is not even close to our worst defenseman and even with his struggles hes still been a pretty good defenseman. Just because he hasn't been the top pairing guy we expect him to be doesnt mean hes been a bottom pairing guy. Hes had some atrocious games. Also had some good ones. Statements like these are utter exaggerations.

For me it's a simple test. Do I see all the players on the ice, especially forwards, make the same commitment that they do to get back defensively that they do on a rush or on an offensive scoring chance. On 3 of the 4 goals that was not there. How do forwards go for a line change when the puck isn't securely out of their own zone or in deep in the offensive zone? There has to be layers of defense. Even then goals will be scored. Turnover will happen such as Provorov or defenseman will get beaten wide such as with MacDonald. The layers behind them failed.

They showed the picture from the previous game of how they protected the net and Gordon praised that commitment as he should. It wasn't there on all 4 goals. Its a shame because without those 4 self inflicted wounds, the Flyers would've had a good chance to win the game.

There's a serious lack of discipline throughout the lineup. Almost everyone is just skating around waiting for a pass to go on offense. I hope whoever the next coach is resets the game plan to focus on defense then offense. It's been the other way for too long and why they only have marginal success.

I never said he sucks. I think he's incredible. Like possibly better than Scott Stevens. But he's clearly playing below his level and needs a reset.
