Game on WGN again tonight which sucks for me, but I noticed on the NHL app it also lists ESPN+ anyone know what that is?

I continue to have lags and freeze-up independent of computer, wireless or ethernet hard wired. I have high speed comcast service. Picture quality is also poor.

The reddit streams are much better with true HD quality with fewer problems.

Kinda frustrating for a paid package like NHL TV to be so bad!

I think you argument is a good one. However this is the same stanbow who upon the firing of Q and the horrible losing streaks insisted this is a playoff team. If so he thought that over the summer and those FA signings did nothing to improve the team or support that view. As you pointed out the the goalies avail were expensive and wanted multi-year 3 mildo per deals. Ward got 1 year and the NMC for signing only a 1 year deal. Ward deal was a good one the other two signings just didn't make sense. other than they were short term deals.

As the saying goes, show my eyes don't tell my ears..... In no possible way do I believe StanBow thought this was a playoff team this offseason, at the start of the season, when he fired Q or now. ....... He showed my eyes by not going after a JVR type this last offseason. He simply can't tell you what he thinks and I'm assuming ShovelFace won't allow that. In fact IMO a hard core fan should take a sabbatical from Stan's words. His actions will tell you all you need to know, his mouth nothing.

IMO he did what he needed to to make sure the team was not a sideshow like last yr, try and develop and or evaluate prospects at the NHL level and to do no harm long term to the cap. ...... So I'm more than fine with Ward, Manning and Kunitz (or insert similar names). Do no harm!!

Did a little checking and it looks like it’s a new streaming option. Android and Apple app, sounds like you have to have ESPN with your dish or cable provider. It’s $5 a month and you can cancel anytime.

Keith's actual salary may be a bargain but his cap hit going forward for the Leafs is not. This is not happening. Too bad that he is not on an expiring contract because he would be a hot commodity at the TDL.

I tend to agree and don’t think Keith would want to go there anyhow. As far as fitting with them cap wise, some of that depends on whether they decide to resign Gardiner or not.

If Keith did want to move, I’d think he’d prefer further west, just throwing out possibilities:

Vancouver
Colorado
Winnipeg

Yeah I've been subscribed for a few years. Works fine on Roku on the TV but sucks whenever I'm traveling and have to watch on a laptop. Freezes constantly.

Possibly, and it would be great to still have both. Hate the Danault trade then and now.

But, I don’t think they fix an aging core and especially on defense. I think they are at least trying to address it.

Many, the Hawks themselves, have drawn comparisons to the Wings model. The Wings started their decline in about 2010 and were completely done when Lidstrom retired. A big difference between the two teams can be seen in their drafts of recent years where the Hawks have loaded up on dmen and through FA where they’ve tried to plug the dyke til prospects become ready.

Correct. ....and you mean the Wings/ Scotty Bowman model of a left handed team. We currently have 4 right handed shots.....Seabrook, Murphy, DeBrincat, and Hayden. (Ruuta in Rock).
I guess it's a no-brainer to clamor for Shaw and Panarin huh? Sorry to hit that sore spot guys.

I just like more right handed shots to balance that off- wing position that's all.
Especially on the PP. 5 lefty's make it very difficult to get shots off quickly.

Agreed as these are reasons why I think it may not be a terrible thing for him to be traded, however sad it would be.

I've noticed since game 4 of the NSH series, that Keith visibly turns it on and plays much better when he has what I assume is some personal motivation to do so, usually against a prior SC playoff opponent / division rival, when we've dug a hole, etc.. That "only when it counts" approach could definitely be a bad example to set on a team full of young, developing guys who undoubtedly look up to him.

As someone who has a hard time personally feeling engaged in my work unless I'm being challenged, I get it, I really do. However, if I'm interpreting what I'm seeing from him correctly (based in part on his own comments), then it may not be the worst thing for him to move along if HE wants to.

The entire core did this every season, they’d take games off in Jan/Feb, before gearing up again before the playoffs started. It’s how teams get through the grind of an 82 game season.

Put yourself in the shoes of 2, 7, 19 or 88. You’ve been to the top of the mountain 3 times, and just missed a 4th. You’ve put blood and sweat into making the Hawks a very successful franchise for about 10 years. You see talented players traded off, and replaced by AHL maybes or NHL never was. And now your expected to baby sit the kids through a rebuild?

I hope 7, 2, 19, 88 & 50 retire as Blackhawks, just as Stan did

And other than 7, they all have a lot of game left, and are still your best players.

The Leafs have cap options if they want to add Keith to their blueline (which is something Babcock would be all in on).

1) Drop Hainsey down to 3rd pairing and not re-sign him for next year.

2) Trade Gardiner now or keep him for a run at the Cup this year and let him go as a UFA at the end of the year.

3) Trade Nylander in the off season.

Keith disillusioned - maybe. All he wants to do is play for a winner and play in meaningful games. What else would a guy like him want to do after 3 Cups, Olympic Gold medals and the Norris?

Keith has said before if he ever left the Hawks he'd stay in the western conference because his son lives in BC. I think he said it after Sharp was traded

Except they actually need a right handed dman. Rielly, Gardiner and McDermott are all playing better than Keith as left handed defensemen.

Edit: As I mentioned earlier be careful which streamer you use at Reddit. I use hany48, that's the link I provided above, and have never ever had a problem. .... I'd also suggest trying the opponents feed for a period or so to compare and contrast Eddie and Foley and the Hawks' production of their broadcast. The Canadian feeds are lights out with info and intermission scoop on the game and whole league.

Watched the COL feed last game and the PBP guy mentioned that when McKinnon with his freakish speed came in as a rookie one of the only Dmen that could turn and skate with him that yr was Keith.

Some Hawk fans, myself included, ride Keith at times but around the league with those who matter he has a lot of value.
