Probably, but I want Nylander up for say 15 games to get a real solid evaluation on his NHL game. Play him with Eichel and Mitts only to give him the absolute best opportunity.

Wasn't all that long ago that a few people were certain Baptiste earned a shot with Jack. Some still want Saint Evan there. Bailey earned an opportunity in the top 6. Nylander deserves it. Okposo should play there to up his trade value. No question Olofsson deserves it.

You have to draw the line somewhere, and that's clearly Thompson. He'd make Skinner look short, and he'd be less likely to sign here.

Sam Reinhart at 0.95 PPG, projects to about 78 points
19-20 G's, 58 A's
Tom Wilson, at 1.15 PPG, projects to 95sh point over full 82 game season,
55 G pace
but has only played in 15 games ... so more like 71 points in 62 games...and 40 G's

No, I dont expect for Wilson to finish anywhere near those projections.
But Sam supporters should be defending Tom Wilson's productivity rather than tearing it apart. And he brings toughness hardly anyone in the NHL wants to mess with...very, very few have the balls to...an aspect we Sabre fans will be clamoring for before too long.

I just find it ironic because I was blasted here for doing the same thing with Kane/O’Reilly/Lehner etc.

I don’t think Thompson is great, but outside of the top line, the top 6 potential in the lineup is Mittelstadt and Thompson, the end. They should be given chances to use their talent

It’s just kind of a perfect storm for the bottom 9 forwards.

The wingers aren’t good enough to give a young guy like Mittelstadt room, and the centers (Sobotka, Mitts) aren’t good enough to make guys like Thompson and Sheary a threat on a game to game basis.

I really think a minor hockey trade for a 2/3 line center or winger for a guy like McCabe or Guhle+ could be a boost.

And I like McCabe a lot
