He's got really good lateral movement and seems to get those pucks across the crease. Something that Kinkaid and Schneider always had trouble with.

They only had any pressure at the end because Tortarella loves to turtle at end of games.

I'm more worried the tank hurts the kid... his confidence is already brittle.

Hopefully it has improved in the last few years. He certainly has height and flexibility and style to be an NHL goaltender, but that confidence is really important, and this defence can make you feel exposed pretty quickly. Thank goodness Kinkaid is eating all the damage.

He wouldn't be a New Jersey Devil prospect if he didn't have brittle confidence.

Sidenote, Matthews is just too damn good. With Laine, McDavid and few others, I think this is another golden age in hockey.

I believe that was all part of the plan - Shero doing nothing in offseason, Hynes still coach after these losses. Constantly playing players that don't deserve a spot.

So if this is part of the plan, I think Shero has an ace he'll throw down eventually.
