Does Botts consider taking a run at Duchene in the offseason ?

Skinner-Eichel-Reinhart
Mitts-Duchene-Thompson

Rest of the bottom 6 can be guys that make next to nothing.

Dahlin-Risto
McCabe-?
Pilut-?

The "?" can be a cost efficent d-men. Can start double shifting Dahlin as a RHD with Pilut as well.

Agreeing to the mutual termination of his contract, Berglund is walking away from $12,579,032.

I don’t think this is the year for Botts to be looking to UFAs to bring in for the top 6.

He might look for help on the blue line though.

Botts strikes me as a trade guy first and foremost.

Dumping Moulson's approx 4M, Pommer's 5.6 and Berglund's 3.85 next year. That's a cool 14.5ish of Skinner space.

Trust me, there is already a contract in Sweden, and the grease that Pegula threw at him will never be disclosed.

He's walking away from the NHL contract but he's not loosing all $12.5M.

Realistically if we can find a top 4RHD that will be here for the long haul our 5th and 6th d-men will be irrelevent as they'll play 11 minutes a night on a good day.

Dahlin-? (25 minutes a night)
Pilut-Risto (25 minutes a night)
?-?

Looking at all of the defensemen we have and who could use some I would definitely think that a trade could come sooner than later. Edmonton has a void with all there injuries and RNH seems to be available. May cost too much to get him though.
Another team I haven't thought about is Dallas. They are only carrying 6 dmen and Taylor Fedun is one of them (they currently have 4 on IR.) Wonder if they would be interested in a Beauleu for Brett Ritchie type of trade.

Skinners $5.75 and Berglunds $3.8 makes up more than enough to work out a deal.

Then throw in Moulson and Pommer there’s another $10 plus million.

I’m excited.

Just like that cap issues have gone way down.

Vladimir Sobotka--0+0, -7
Kyle Okposo--0+0, -5
Conor Sheary--0+1, -3
Tage Thompson--1+1, -4
Casey Mittelstadt--1+1, -3
Jason Pominville--0+0, -2

this might sum up all the bad things in sabre land this season
-homiedclown

But i heard Thompson was playing well now?

And I’m freaking done with Sobotka at 3C
Move him to the wing,
preferably on line 4
Either give E Rod a shot at 3C,
or move Sam to center & bump down Mitts

I’d rather have Stone
Mitts looks good enough that i think he will eventually come around at center
I warned ppl not to overreact if he wasn’t putting up “Barzal numbers” right away
He can still develop into a really good player

Serious.
I know he’s playing in the ahl, but is he not playing well there? Like whats the knock on him and why he isn’t in the nhl?

- bryant

Well,
He was only 18
Then he was only 19
Then he was only 20
Now i
He is 20-3/4.

Puting up about 0.80 PPG down tnere playing mkstly a peri eter game.
Set-up guy, not a finisher.
Still developing...into what is debateable.

Sobotka is better suited on the 4th

Skinner Eichel Reinhart
Tage Mitts Okposo
Sheary ERod Smith
Larsson Sobotka Girgensons

Tage played his best hockey on the left side.

That second line still needs work but this team just doesn’t have the depth yet.

21-22 cap

Jack-10
Dahlin-9
Jeff-8
Sam-6
Casey-6
Kyle-6
Risto-5.4
Tage-4
Pilut-4
Ullmark-4
Nylander-4
Guhle-3

Outside of trades (or BOs) those guys will likely all be here definitely or around the given cap range. Gives around 65M for 7F, 4D and 1G. Rest of the guys will be low cost, middle-bottom 6 forwards. Salary cap is volatile considering the end of the CBA agreement happens before this year starts, but based on growth could be about 90M. Could there be space for a talent like Duchene? Does it stunt a guy like CM for the years down the road? Do you move either guy to the wing?

I would say it's realistically possible to fit him in, now that Bergone has left us.

I’m not sure a guy like Duchene is what this team needs.

I’d rather get a JT Miller and then pull a trade for a guy like Tarasenko.

This Berglund situation turned out to be a huge blessing for the teams future cap space.
