Skinners $5.75 plus Berglund’s $3.85

$9.6 million.

Skinner signs for $8.25 Sabres still make out with an extra $1.2 million.

Just wow.

Gotta love it.

Pommer could be retiring and not coming back so there’s an extra $5.3 million.

Now just find someone to take Okposo!!!

Well, they do get some cap relief with Bergy gone now.
I agree the smart play is to see what the youngsters can do 1st before making a big move.
As I said before, pull Nylander up and let's see what this kid has...now nearly 21, his time has come to show what he has...or what he can be at least.
He doesn't need to score like Skinner, although who would argue.
Evaluate whether the kid is a sniper, if he plays in the dirty areas, does the puck seem to find him ... all leading indicators of what he will round into with a bit more baking.
Give him 15 games on Jack's wing.
Push Skunk to RW on line with Casey, and put Tage on his left (he looked good there for a couple of games)
Tell Sobotka that if he could hang with Bergy to "contract his illness" that would be great.

- IonSabres

Sobotka is a 4th line center who can fill in on the 3rd when needed. I’m not expecting much production but he’s been good defensively.

This team really needs a 2C until Casey is ready.

E-Rod doesn’t have the skill I’d like as a 2C at least not long term but it’s worth a shot.

No doubt about the 2C.
Sobotka isn't a huge problem, but if they found a way to dump his $3M contract 1-1/2 years early..TERRIFIC.
Bergy's 3.85 and Sobotka's $3.0m could get you a decent 2C ... a guy who's got a couple years of term left.
that would push CM down to 3C making Sobotka redundant.

Moulson comes off
Pommer comes off

There plenty of room to get that temporary 2 C and by the time you have to pay Dahlin, Mitts, Reinhart, etc Sobotka’s comes off too.

Berglund, Okposo, Pominville, Moulson, Sheary, Sobotka, Scandella, Hunwick all off the books by the end of next year gives us 42M

I'm aware, for sure.
but anytime they can rid of a non-productive contract...especially years early...do it.

What’s the dealio with nylander? Not getting a fair shake, or not progressing well? Has he spent any significant time in the nhl? I haven’t followed much of him.

Charlie Coyle this year and next year cap hit $3.2 he'll be 28 by the time the deal ends. Can fill in as second line center for the rest of this season and drop down to 3rd next year
